-He says that if you can do the homework, you can pass the quizzes and the exams, but the problems on the exams are much harder. -He says the best way to learn how to solve integrals is to memorize the integrals. How is that teaching students anything? -Its hard to concentrate when he jumps back and forth between problems in class.

Dr. Mazur is an awesome professor. His lectures are easy to follow if you did well in Calculus I and he is always willing to help answer your questions. In order to do well you must do the homework (people will be failing and wonder why when they don't do practice problems from the homework). Tests are easy if you study.

His tests were very difficult and make up almost all your grade. The homework problems aren't mandatory, but if you want some chance to pass you have to do them. There is a lot of memorization that he doesn't tell you'll need, but you will fail without it. He expects you to have a background in the class, which wasn't helpful for people who haven't

I loved him as a professor, he's so caring and after so many years of teaching you can tell he cares. He is always open to meet outside of the classroom setting. Definitely put work in outside of class to get the grade desired! He truly knows his stuff and takes time to explain concepts.

Super old school professor. only way to get A in his class is to do ALL the homework problems. all test questions are extremely normal. (not easy, but no hard or trick questions on the Exam and quiz).

The class is calc 2, so the material is hard no mater what. I loved having Mazur as a professor though, hes really dedicated and passionate and it really makes the class that much less painful. The tests have some problems straight from the homework

I am so bad at calc but this guy is the only reason I got out of it alive. The best math teacher I have ever had and he REALLY cares about the students. The book was only used for optional homework, but I found it more helpful to just study all the examples from class. Attendance not required but go to class because he will round up your grade!

One of the best professors I've ever taken, if you have the option to take him I would 10/10 recommend. He is very good at explaining the concepts and making sure everyone understands before moving on. He always takes time to answer questions. Great guy overall

This man is so intelligent and has an amazing sense of humor! Best math class I have taken. He will help you if you ask, and he always makes sure to pause to check for comprehension and make sure no one has any questions. Definitely take his class.

HARD professor but well worth it! You definitely learn the information. And, as soon as you get over the intimidation factor he very helpful if you go see him in office hours. You can tell how much he LOVES math from the first day of having him. Well worth it as a teacher if you are willing to work!

He is amazing. He has helped me greatly. His quizzes and exams are pretty simple if you study the homework and his notes. He will take homework questions out of the book and put them on the test. He is extremely helpful if you need it. By far the best math teacher at Duquesne University. Just study hard!

Mazur is amazing and the smartest mathematician at Duq. Quizzes and exams are both challenging but his grading is fair for the most part. IF YOU ARE A MATH MAJOR, TAKE MAZUR. if you aren't you may want to reconsider since he teaches as if you are going to take more math classes. Definitely redo all class examples before doing the HW it helps more.

GREAT! If you are a math major be sure to take him, he knows everything about anything math related. If you are not a math major, Mazor is very math enthusiastic and teaches you as if you are going to take more math classes so he may not be for you. Mazur is the best mathematician at Duquesne! He uses the best techniques and really helps students understand calculus. The class is tough, but if you study his examples in class and do the optional homework, you will pass. His exams are very fair and are like the problems he goes over in class.

If you are a dedicated student then you will want a dedicated professor. Mazur is the math teacher you want. although he can be difficult all his class take is effort. its not difficult its just a matter of not being lazy. he is truly dedicated and is an outstanding teacher.

Homework not mandatory but make sure you do it - it's humbled me more than once. Willing to take time out of class to help students and is very knowledgeable and makes sure that everyone knows what they're doing. Always allows questions and answers them fully and concisely.
