Miriam was the worst teacher I've ever had at MRU. She's not consistent with her lectures and goes off on tangents frequently. She is extremely biased in the attention she gives some students. If you are liked by her you will do well. If you question her about her knowledgebase she will shun you and you will not do well. Not a leader.

Miriam is probably the worst instructor I've had at MRU. I had the misfortune of having her teach the Policy Studies internship. What she explains in her outlines vs. her actual expectations are complete opposites. She grades extremely hard, you really need to proof read something at least 5 times. Make a citation error, prepare for a grade of 0.

This was by far my favourite class of the semester. I found Miriam's lectures both inspiring and fascinating. After taking this class I'm now registered in another one of hers for the next term. I would recommend attending all classes as she often gives important insights on material for exams. Also be ready to write in both essays and exams.

She marks incredibly hard for a first year course. Her lectures are dry and she's quite snarky and won't be afraid to shut you down whatever way possible

The lectures are extremely text heavy and all that she does is read off of each slide and would occasionally provide an example which isn't enough. Favoritism is shown to certain students as well. Her essay marking is very non forgiving. And so, if you don't say what she wants to hear, your marks will take a hit. Terrible .

This leadership class is super easy. Miriam is a great teacher, engaging, and communicates well with her students. She doesn't mark hard, as long as what you're presenting shows her what you've learned. Attendance is mandatory, or else she docks marks off.

There are a lot of assignments in this class but they are EASY! I would recommend this course and this professor for GNED1304. It is not a hard course and as long as you do your homework, you will do well. She is also very open to new ideas, we originally had a term paper and she got rid of it because we asked her to - how great is that?

She is a smart woman, just not a great teacher. She is very hard to approach and her lectures are pretty dry. Her essay marking is BRUTAL and very erratic. I would not reccommend her. She'd make a shrewd business woman!

Overall not the best, but above average. Helpfullness and approach-ability (if it's a word) not great if she can't put a name to your face. Much better once she knows you. Deffinatly a safe proff to go with.

You will only do good on papers with her when you write what SHE wants to hear. Is a brutal marker who is all over the place, got 100% on one paper when I sucked up to her and then was killed in the final when I didn't, with my final average taking a serious hit. Cold and arrogant. AVOID IF IT ALL POSSIBLE. Your GPA and sanity will thank you.

Quirky and interesting, I found her to be interesting and fair. Some think she is not an even handed marker, I disagree. Her expectations are slightly different from others and as long as you are intelligent enough to listen to her instructions you can do well.

Highly dislike this prof. Her mind changes from class to class. She favors others to a high degree. Is very inconsistent with her marking & can't tell you why you lost marks. Her opinion is the only one that matters, if you disagree with her opinion in papers you will do poorly on them. If you can avoid taking a class with her, you REALLY should.

Miriam is incredibly high spirited and she provides energetic lectures. It's pretty hard not to enjoy one of her lectures. She can talk pretty quickly at times to get through the content in one lecture, but she's great at her explanations, and will go back a couple slides if needed.

I took the Communities and Society course and I expected a lot more out of it. I found this to be a bird course. Miriam is nice gives a lot of slack but the course is terrible to date I don't know what I have learned
