Murray is really smart and I learned a lot in his class. You definitely have to do a lot of work on your own, but he answers any questions you may have. People give him low scores because they don't want to put in the effort to learn on their own. He helped me with every single question I had.

You can't graduate Winona State University with a Finance major without taking Professor Murray. He is one of the biggest reasons the program lacks. I have taken him for three courses and he can't remember which class he taught what in. He assigns chapters to read out of the text book and his tests follow none of it. You won't learn anything.

He doesn't explain anything so be prepared to teach yourself. There are 4 exams and that is it. He curves very heavy, your exam grade is based on how everyone else does. In my class, an A on an exam was about 40%. His exams were things I never saw in class or read in the textbook. Just hope you can do better on exams than your classmates.

This class was an absolute joke. In order to receive a B in the class, put 'C' for every answer on the multiple choice sections and leave the working problems blank. Michael Murray 'teaches' the most ridiculous class to be offered at Winona State. This class needs to be taught by someone else or offered for free. Average on the first exam was a 20%

Hopefully you're a great guesser.. Half the class would just show up on exam days because 75% of his lectures were useless. Graded on 4 exams throughout the course. I don't believed I got better than 40% on any of them and I received a B for his course. May the curve be in your favor each and every exam. Good luck....

Worst professor in Finance maybe the whole business department. Like people have said test averages are 20-25% normally and then its curved. I'm a A/B student and barely passing this real estate class. Multiple choice part of tests is guessing and the math is different than lecture material. He doesn't explain anything just writes numbers on board

This class is the worst. He tries to explain everything to us, but then on the test it is completely different material. Also, he has a huge curve at the end of each test, but never enters anything into D2l- hes very old fashion.

I specifically made an account to rate this guy so others can be prepared for what I wasn't. He is a very smart guy and means well but I have not learned one thing in this class. The test are so hard that if you get 25% or better, you are guaranteed a B. Its an easy class to get a C in but the test are just a guessing game. Would try and avoid

You will learn nothing in this class, but it is an easy pass. The class average on each exam this semester has been 25 %, so you just have to do better than that to get a B. I have not scored higher than 30% on his exams yet this semester and have a B+ so far.

Prof. Murray is good, but I have no idea what is going on every single class, I feel like I am an idiot in his class. Do not even bother to listen or take notes because you have no idea what he is talking about and what you are writing down. Take good guesses in the exams' multiple choices and you will pass:)

Finance 335. He grades on a bell curve because he'd lose his job if he didn't. I got less than 20% on a test. It was a C. If he bothered to teach anything he wouldn't have to do this. This is an introduction class that teaches you nothing.

This guy knows his stuff, but he's so smart that he flies through everything. Grades based off of 3 or 4 tests, and they're based off of his famous "bell curve". So your grade depends how good or bad your entire class does. I studied a lot and did well, but don't think I learned anything.

His lectures can be hard to follow, but if you actually read the class material from the textbook then it is easier to understand. He is very smart, so sometimes he skips the small steps. If you do the formulas exactly how he does them in lectures then you will do fine. The tests are hard, but he is a fair grader and curves.

He is a average professor. Very hard tests which are graded on a bell curve. He knows a lot about finance, and the real estate markets. If you ask him questions he will help. If you do not like finance or business you will struggle, class can be boring.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Not a clue what to study or what you would be tested on. You dont pass the test but he curves so you do. those who are better guessers in the class will do better. That is what your grade is, who can guess the best. I could not say one thing that I learned from him.

My four test percentages were 34.5%, 37%, 35.6%, and 41.2%. I got an A in the class... somehow. He curves like no other professor I have had in my lifetime. You will learn NOTHING, but with minimal effort you can pass the class. He is a nice guy in general, but he is NOT a good professor...
