I'm more of a sit and listen type of student. I don't like to get much involved with class discussion. This teacher get's everyone involved. He truly cares about his students and want's everyone to walk away from the class with a new outlook on life. Easy paper grader, but tests were VERY difficult considering he doesn't use the text book.

Michael is a great professor. He really enjoys teaching and likes his students. This class helped to open my mind towards other religions and see how ignorant I was about my own religion. He shared a lot of his own experiences with the class and I felt like he was spot on in his view of life and very amusing. I would definitely recommend him!

WORST TEACHER EVER! Never talked about any ethics or values. No structure to the class. Tests were like history questions & had nothing to do w/E&V. Written papers due every class period, few graded. Never knew your grade. Notes helpless for test. All he talked about was how he worked at the prison & never had class discussions on ethical topics.

Michael is such a great teacher I learned so much from him and enjoyed his class. I was dreading philosophy but he made it enjoyable. Make sure you remember the quotes he shares in class. He is great and helping you out if you have questions, he really wants his students to learn and enjoy learning. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

One of the worst teachers I've had at UVU. Hardly covers ANYTHING about the subject and can't seem to answer questions that are outside of his off topic lectures. His tests don't have anything to do with his lectures. Plan on doing a lot of studying to get the info you need for his tests.

Good Eth&Val teacher, interesting discussions. Requires regualar pass/fail papers. No textbook (!) but his tests are deceptively difficult. Take detailed notes. Also, take him seriously when he warns that he's nosy; he tends to pry into people's lives.

Michael was a fantastic teacher. He doesn't use a book but knows the material inside and out. His tests aren't easy but he gives you everything you need to know in class and has a great review session. He hates titles and wants to know everyone in his classes. The shocker is that he actually DOES take the time to get to know everyone. Take him!

Ok, so if you just want to get a grade and get PHIL2050 over with, DO NOT take it from Michael. If you really want to learn and have an open mind, this is your man. His tests are tricky, he is a very lenient with late work, he requires a 2 page paper a week. He might be the most down to earth person I've ever met in my life.

Michael was my favorite professor I have has thus far. He cares about each student and about LEARNING not grading. He wants to know what you think in addition to helping you to broaden your scope of opinion. His stories of personal experience are both interesting and relevant to the world today. Smart guy, really enjoyed him. Thanks!

Most boring professor in existence. I can honestly say that I took nothing from the course. There was no textbook and it was a once a week class. Waste of time. Don't take this class! He is really lazy and just a lame professor overall.
