Comment:
Michael Zimmerman is a really great philosopher, and I could see why people who have no previous knowledge within ethics/formal logic would have a hard time understanding his lectures. As for those who took him online, be prepared for any online philosophy class to be confusing, I highly recommend taking philosophy on campus. I got an A

I do not recommend this class to anyone. Ive never failed a class before until this one. Kills your GPA. His notes were very difficult to understand and his tests were always worded different just to throw you off.

This was my first online class I had taken and I am normally good with philosophy, but this professor is exceptionally hard. This is the hardest class I have ever taken. There is no textbook for the class, he writes all of the notes. They are hard to understand and the quizzes are so confusing and graded very hard. Do not recommend this class.

This course was awful and so was this professor. The questions are very tricky and are worded poorly. No tutoring or extra credit option. Very difficult class. Do not take it! Horrible experience

Comment:
If you take this class, be prepared to get frustrated at having to interpret what exactly he's asking for in his questions. He words questions very poorly, and that's putting it nicely. It's sad that grasping the subject matter itself is not enough to succeed. If you want an honest, fair chance at getting an A, steer clear of this online class.

Comment:
This class was unnecessarily difficult. This is due in large part to the deceiving ways this professor words questions on his quizzes, which are the only graded assignments. I took this class thinking it was an easy filler to balance out my heavy STEM schedule. It's ironic that I got A's in ALL but this class. Consider yourselves forewarned.

Hardest class I've ever taken. Test are very confusing because of the wording. He does not use powerpoints, he just talks, but does give you a copy of what he is going to talk about. He is a nice man, but his class is pretty bad.

Did so much work for this class and still did not do well. I would read and understand the material but his tests really are trying to trick you. The way he grades is not about how well you understand philosophy but how well you understand multiple choice. On every question either all of the answers could be right or none of them, very frustrating

This class was such a waste of time, no matter how hard i tried and how long i took for the tests, its just way too difficult , he makes the text very hard to understand and confusing. Your only going to take 6 exams the entire semester and no other chance of getting points from other source.

Professor Zimmerman is a nice man. However, this class was horrible. He used zero visual aids and just stood in the front of the classroom and spoke in his monotone voice. The topics were interesting but he explained them in a way that no one could possibly understand. I honestly have no idea how I even got a C in this course.

Comment:
The instructor warns that the issues to be discussed are "complex", but they're not. The only complex part is that the readings are too lengthy and over-specific, as well as the fact that there are only 7 (extremely difficult) quizzes to complete-- which amount to the ONLY credit available for scoring. There's no guaranteed extra credit.

So this is a required course for pre-nursing. Literally just show up to class, take notes and study them maybe twice a week. His exams are literally quotes of what he says in class, but people don't realize that (psst that means record the lecture). Also, he will not wake you up if you're sleeping, which is really common in this course. Easy A

I did all the readings in this class and still could not get better than a D. He is a hard grader, does not make it clear what he expects. Gave practice questions before the exams and they were nothing like the exam. Do not take his class, if you do not have too.

Comment:
You get 5 tests, and that's your grade. If you want to do well, then you must read. You can easily get by with a B if you don't read, but you would also need to understand the logic behind his test questions. His lectures are very long and boring, so if you're not very interested in the material or this is not a requirement, don't take it.

The teacher is a amazing man, but his course's information sucks, and is extremely boring. At the beginning of the semester, he stated that the average grade in his course is a "C", im struggling right now to even maintain a C. He has four test which is the only thing that determines your grade, and the test are hard.

This class was easy if you were willing to pay attention to his notes. The readings could be difficult to understand for some people, but he creates a note outline to dumb it down for everyone so for some people, you don't even need to do the readings. He gives you sample questions for tests, and it's incredibly easy to pass. Take classes by him!!
