Comment:
Friendly, funny, and down-to-earth, although he's written some pretty big papers. Might be hard to understand at first but not too bad once you get over his accent. Course focuses on academic papers, which are quite hard to understand. But he tells you exactly what you need to know for the exams and overall, evaluations are quite fair.

Absolutely useless. cannot understand a word of what he is saying or follow the lecture because of accent. when taking up sample exam questions, cannot follow what question we're even on. incomprehensible writing on the board.

Lessons are important as what he says or emphasizes on will come out, so if you don't intend to be very thorough when studying, attend the lessons. However, it's pretty hard to understand and pay attention as he's so soft and the content is dry. But he is a passionate teacher who's interested in his subject!

All I can say is "if only he could speak english". He's a nice guy, but simply does not have enough control of the language to explain a financial concept. The key to doing well in his class is the textbook - its a top quality textbook, and you should invest more time in it than the class.

He's a pretty good professor. The slides and examples he gives are really helpful when studying for the exams. He talks quietly and English is a bit rough at times, but it's understandable. It's not his fault the course material is dry at times.

Great prof. Excellent slides, examples are very reflective of the midterm and final. Genuinely cares about students and is always there during office hours. Talks sort of quietly, so it's worth sitting in the front of the room. Likes people who participate in class. Very enjoyable overall.

Really nice guy who knows his stuff but finds it hard to explain it (typical academic). Hampered by the fact that the course itself (along with its textbook) is very, very dry.

Unfortunately, I had trouble understanding a lot of what was said in class due to is accent. Also, had trouble getting extra help. He seemed to think his regular lunch meetings with collegues were more important.

Gives plenty of examples, so nobody has any excuse to not get a decent grade in this class. Do the practice questions, he posts the solutions. He is not the most interesting, but definitely a good teacher. Very approachable and always willing to help. He does talk quietly so sit in the front of his class. Awesome prof!

His lectures are so boring. He speaks in a monotonous tone, which puts you to sleep. Notice when he is teaching, he loves to wave his hands in the air all the time LOL. It's quite entertaining. He's a sweet guy, but sometimes, he gets lost in his own explanations and has to start over again.

Very knowledgeable about his subject (comes from a physics background) and sensitive to students's needs. Tests and exams are challenging so expect to work hard for the A+, which is nonetheless doable. Sometimes a bit unclear in his enunciation, but a very good professor overall.

Know your**** in this class; do all the practice problems. This should be an easy class for hardcore losers and nerds... but these people won't get a job in iBanking anyways, so good luck.

I don't understand all this "he has an accent" talk. You make it sound like he's fresh off some boat. He speaks fine! totally fine! tests are fair, even easy, and you'll do fine on em if you read the text and do the practice problems...which he posts answers to! slides are good, and he is helpful.
