I had Sobiesk my first semester freshman year, and he is BY FAR my favorite professor ever. he knows history inside and out like the back of his hand. he does all of his lectures with out any notes and remembers exactly where he left off. his lectures can be boring, but still not too bad. he only gave 3 exams and 1 paper.

Honestly, I don't think i've seen somebody so passionate about what they do. He really loves history and he sure shows it. He knows EVERYTHINg. He is so kind and caring and is the nicest man i've ever met. People will ask me who my all time favorite teacher is and I'm sure it will, from this day forth, always be him.

Honestly, best teacher I've ever, EVER had. He is sooooo funny and has been everywhere. I've never met somebody so much and somebody who is so passionate about what they do. He loves history and it shows. There is absolutely nothing bad I could ever say about him.

Just a great guy overall. He know's every lecture (and I mean every, he lectures every class period) off the top of his head. He's been nearly everywhere he discusses in lecture, and gets this twinkle in his eye as he's reciting it. An easy grader, he's just the full package.

Dr. Sobiesk was my instructor back in the early 70s at Winona State. I'm please that he's still teaching because he was very good. We use to play chess in his office sometimes. I have now been a history teacher for nearly 40 years, partly because of great teachers like Dr. Sobiesk. Thanks, Doc.

Not sure if he will be back next semester, he only teaches one class now. Soooo smart, it is crazy how much he knows. He is really good at guilt tripping everyone for not coming to class. Lectures are interesting, but somewhat boring (monotone voice. plus i had it right after lunch, usually wanted a nap!) if you study tests are easy enough for a B)

i think he only teaches one class a semester now, but its very easy. he writes notes out on the board in outline formas he talks, all you need to do is copy those down and you're set.it might get boring if you're not interested in history, but itrs still easy. he grades very easily and he knows freakin everything.

I loved Sobiesk!! he is a great professor and a really fun guy! he lectures everyday but he writes down everything you need to take notes on, on the board. You need to study for the tests but they aren't that hard, he is also a pretty easy grader. Take this class!!

This guy rocks. He is very nice, humble, and unlike many profs doesn't act like he is better than everyone else. He frickin knows everything! Smartest guy I've ever seen. He's a lovable, good guy. Prof Sobiesk is my hero.

the most adorable old man. he knows everything about everything and gets this far away look in his eyes when he talks about it. he loves teaching and loves history. memorizes his lectures and talks about places like you are there. i am going to miss him :o(
