Dr. Pearson is nice and a good teacher but extremely hard grader. She will not round your final grade. I was .3 away from an A and she told me no.

You have to show up! No lectures are given online. I have a 4.0 GPA and this class was HARD to keep an A. She had 3 papers due and were graded hard. She gives very little room for error. I have taken her in the past and received an A...I don't recommend her for this course.

She is straightforward. She tells you exactly what she expects. If you show up to every class, take notes, and actually study those notes for the test you'll do fine. 95% of her test for child psych come from the notes in class and her examples. She has a strong personality but she is an amazing teacher and always willing to answer questions.

dr pearson is amazing. Her class is no walk in the park but if you just go to class, take notes, and study you should do fine and if you ever are confused about any material she is more than willing to help. Everytime I take a class and have to choose between another professor and her i will always choose her. highly recomend!!

I was not impressed with her at all! I had taken an abnormal class previously but it didn't transfer to SIUE and I learned so so much more in that class and enjoyed it immensely. This class was a higher level course than the one I took and we didn't talk near as much about things I learned in the previous one. I would not recommend her.

For social psychology, she was pretty easy. Lots of extra credit. We do use the book a lot though, so i would advise to read chapters before tests. Posts grade pretty quick. Overall pretty good professor.

Dr. Pearson is my favorite professor at SIUE. She is tough and requries a lot out of her students but always willing to explain the material. She made the material interesting and had a lot of good examples. She really has given me some good advice and I admire her. It is a university we are attending so we should expect the classes to be hard.

She is one of my all-time favorite teachers. Yes, you'll actually have to study and take notes ("...put on your college panties" - P. Pearson); but she is hilarious, interesting, and unpredictable. Great stories/examples/supporting lecture materials! I appreciate her high standards and assignment feedback- it helps me learn, retain and progress!

This is where the "I'm in Psychology because its FUN" students drop like flies, and it's about time. It's a 400 level class, not amateur hour. Dr. Pearson knows her stuff, and receiving an A or B is not hard if you STUDY and come to class. She really is a great professor and she may seem intimidating, but she's really helpful and honestly cares.

She is so demanding of her students. There are grad level students in with our class and she expects us to know just as much as they do. She grades hard. I ask questions after class, and she answers my question with a question, and makes me feel dumb for asking. I don't recommend her although she is funny at times.

Dr. Pearson is AWESOME! She is wonderful at lecturing and is completely clear in the points she is trying to make. She uses great examples and takes great time in preparing her lectures. I have learned more from her than any other professor.

I love Dr. Pearson. She's funny, pessimistic, and witty. My main complaint: many papers due that are barely worth any points. I spent days on some of her assignments for 25 pts. She does expect a lot, but that's college, so nothing new there. Go to class, take notes, study, and follow her instructions for the papers, and you will get an A.

If you write down the notes and listen to the information she's talking about you will do just fine. Thorough, clear, patient, presents different, easy-to-relate-to examples if someone asks a question, circles key information that will be on the MC tests, lots of extra credit. Rightfully expects college level student work. I would recommend her.

She really, really, really expects too much of her students. It is ridiculous. I read all of the text, haven't missed a lecture, study my butt off because it's important to me, and I'm still barely scraping by with a C. I am getting A's in all of my other classes but hers. Pretty sure she dislikes all students.Good Luck.

I've had her from 340, 431, and 200. Papers can be a little long and hard, and their are a lot of notes...but it's not necessary to read the text. she takes attendance but you don't have to attend if you don't want extra credit. Exams aren't bad.

I really enjoyed her - I would have to say that she is one of the best teachers I've EVER had, period. She has high standards, but she ought to - it's a university, kids! I also thought she was hilarious and made dry material more interesting. I would definitely enroll in a course with her again.

Teacher is kind of cool...she breaks things down so you can understand them. She's by the book on the articles, but if you do good on the first one and the first two test, you don't have to do the second article...I mean I didn't, and still passed with a B.
