Tom's lectures are very boring and confusing. He does not give direction on how to study for his quizzes. Tom's in class quizzes are very hard and are often over random things from the powerpoints. He expects you to read a 800 page book on the atomic bomb, which most of the class just googled summaries to do the online quizzes.

Professor Foster is an amazing professor, he is funny, laid back, and very clear about the topic. He is always helpful and willing to explain any subject. He is also always open to other people's thoughts and opinions.

Foster is the best physics prof at this campus. He does his best to make a tough class possible to pass. Bad exam grades can be made up with homework, quizes, and online work. Everyone will agree that he requires long tedius work, but like I said it is easy points and make up for bad exam grades. His lectures are very relaxed and informative.

not happy with his teaching when that's what he does his research on. mastering physics is good for points only--does not prepare for test, nor do lectures in my opinion. spent 8-10 hrs outside of mp hw studying. tests are a bit redic. he is nice and helpful. keep in mind i am a chem major, so engineering not my gig. lots of work for a "B"

Dr. Foster is a great Phys 111 teacher. Attendence is a must as you get points for coming to class. There are online homeworks for each chapter, but they are fairly easy. His tests are also all multiple choice which are vastly easier than other Phys 111 teachers's tests. Dr. Foster wants to get to know you, so make sure you drop by his office.

Love him! He is really helpful and super funny. We have in class projects every day and only lectures for the last 20 minutes of class. He is not afraid to admit that he messed something up or failed to teach us something. Highly recommend him!!

Tom's lectures are very confusing and far to detailed in physics for an IS course. His quizzes are horrible and the entire class was awful. I was really interested in the subject, but Foster made it impossible to enjoy it.

Pretty average teacher overall. He assigns about 7 hours of homework per week, which is pretty demanding. In class, he spends more time proving equations than showing how and when to use them. Quizzes are weekly and pretty tough. Only a few tests, but challenging. From what I've heard, he's easier than the other physics teacher (Garcia).

For a lab class that held mostly non majors who needed the exploratory credit, he kept us all engaged. Funny and interested in making sure we all learned SOMETHING from him and at least didn't have a terrible time doing so. Science is not my emphasis, but I definitely looked forward to his lab every other week. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This guy is impressingly intelligent. He knows a variety of fields in science with much depth. He gives you alot of "flavor text" and really likes teaching. His exams aren't simple, but nothing you can't get over, I don't study enough anyway. you'll be amazed at what you can learn from him!
