Professor Clendenin is one of my favorite professors at WVSU. She really pushes her students and won't put up with excuses or laziness. She puts effort in to teaching you, so she expects the same effort from her students in return. You will become a better artist if you are willing to learn from her.

A bit intimidating at first but an amazing teacher, do not make up excuses to her because she understandably does not want to deal with nonsense. She completely transformed an entire class with no skills into a talented group.

Assignments can be a bit unclear... but other than that, pretty amazing professor. No candy coating, so learn to deal with it. Must be serious to take her class, she expects only your best. Plays off of peoples energy a lot, so try to stay positive and upbeat and you'll get a lot out of her class. Changed the way I think.

Paula helped me find a reason to do art. im so glad i took her class. i keep everything she has taught me in the back of my head to keep me going when i feel like quiting. she is a strong woman and im so glad i know her!

Very talented artist, very nice once you get to know her. A tough stickler but if you listen to what she has to say, you will learn a lot. She tells it like it is, no ruffles. If you're thin skinned don't take her class. You may hate the class while you're taking it but later you will be glad you did. You will be a better artist when you come out.

The last poster obviously doesn't know real beauty. This lady is tempermental, judgmental, and unfair. I learned a lot about the politics of the art dept. in class, not painting. She needs to paint something new, then apply that to her classes, and stay away from the same thing every semester.
