The most knowledgeable professor I've ever had. I learned so much in his class. However, I was not prepared for the workload. We read 4 books over the semester. Grade is based on 2 exams (on books and lecture) and one 8 page final paper. Definitely worth taking, but had to put a lot of time in for this class, which put me behind in other classes.

Dr. Antonio is the best professor I've had at KU! The class was recommended to me by my honors advisor. I learned things I didn't think I'd ever really understand, and that's partly due to all the books we read, and partly due to Antonio's lectures. He really knows what he's talking about and makes himself available for questions or discussion.

Bob Antonio is engaging, knowledgeable, wise, and invested in his students; pretty much anything one could ask for in a professor. He strikes a balance between lecture and discussion. The course materials are well selected and go from general to specific. He will bump your grade up a whole letter for good participation. He is a great person to know

One of the hardest courses I've taken at KU. The books we read were extremely difficult and preparing for the written exams took a very long time. He doesn't explain the concepts very well so I ended up googling and watching youtube videos a lot to understand. Be prepared to have a difficult time in this class.

This is a very challenging class, and he expects a lot from you. You have to put in a lot of effort if you want a good grade - which to me is a good thing. The long papers force you to think critically and make an argument. He is such an interesting person to talk to - both during and outside of class. Take any class he teaches

Professor Antonio's class on globalization is very interesting and relevant to contemporary politics. As with his other classes, a decent amount of reading is expected. While his expectations may seem high, a good grade is achievable if you follow his guidelines, which are quite clear. If you can keep up, you'll learn a lot.

Dr. Antonio is a great professor. His class was very interesting. However, he does expect you to read about a book a week and he assigns three ten page essays. That being said, it was probably my favorite class. If you give the class the time, you can receive an A.

Bob Antonio definitely knows what he's talking about. He's probably one of the smartest professors I've taken a class from. However, the class is very reading intensive. The class grade was based solely on two tests and a paper. If you don't read, or if you skip class, you won't do well. One of the hardest classes I've taken and I managed a B.

When it comes to Professor Antonio, believe the hype. This has been one of my favorite classes of all time and I highly encourage taking it. In my view, the difficulty is a little exaggerated by the other reviewers--If you are willing to do the readings and engage in his class, you will reap the rewards.

More reading than all of my other classes combined and plenty of writing, but completely worth it. Antonio is brilliant and he gets you to think and write significantly better the topics and readings were all extremely interesting and it's a great class if you like discussion courses

Antonio is a world-class professor - passionate and intense about what he's teaching. I'm not a sociology major, but I've loved this class and I think about it often. Show some passion for the subject; show it's important. It's easy to succeed if you do.

Bob Antonio is quite possibly the best professor at KU. He does indeed talk for 40-50 of the 75 minute course, but the man knows what he's talking about. I would recommend that every Sociology member take everything he offers. He's that good. His essays are hard, his tests, are hard, but they are totally worth it. ANTONIO IS GOD!

Ok, I know everyone loves the guy but he drove me insane. One of two professors I've ever had a problem with. He constantly stresses that it is a discussion based class but then talks for 50 out of the 75 minutes we are in there. Rather arrogant, you never really know what he wants from you on papers. Wouldn't recommend it.

This class is challenging for sure but it was EXTREMELY rewarding. I found myself about to drop the class at the beginning but I'm so glad I didn't. Antonio is the smartest professor I have had and I guarantee you will learn so much from him and this class. My suggestion--stay on top of the reading and papers--make sure you edit your papers a lot!
