Large reading assignments, picky on reading response questions, and clearly very biased on the material of the course. Makes it obvious he dislikes the medical model and will continuously argue against it if you try and make small point to support it in any way. Overall, very interesting material but taught in a very biased light.

As a graduate student I have some serious problems with Dr. Miller. Let me start by his numerous and widespread spelling mistakes. The fact that he is still the program director after so many years is gravely concerning. God forbid you like the medical model. I never signed up for taking a philosophy course. His book (on philosophy) is garbage.

Miller's one of those professors whom you either love or strongly dislike. Much of it depends upon your personal zeitgeist. For graduate students, he's a great mix of Rogerian empathy with just enough of a Psychoanalytic edge to keep things interesting. One of the the purest humanists I've had the pleasure of knowing.
