Very knowledgeable and smart about his work of field but not much a social animal and lacks social cues. Doesn't know how to handle common issues, expects too much and very very hard homework totally unrelated to the examples in the class. ONLY take class which are required by him and not more.

Comment:
Very tough grader. Confusing lectures and little examples gone over in class. Will get upset if you question something in his grading or argue a point. One of the hardest and most stressful classes I have ever taken. Needs to provide more in class examples. Speaks at a level that is way above a students understanding to an intro level course.

Great class. You will learn a lot and learn it well. Make sure you know basics, like functions sets, proof techniques etc. otherwise it will be hard. Grading is harsh but fair. If you haven't had a class with him then go to office hours and figure out what he wants on the homework. He likes it when students come to office hours. But, come prepared!

Rosenberg lives in a little world of fantasy mathematics. Make sure to live inside of his arbitrary bubble, and you will do fine.

Dr Rosenberg is very knowledgeable and will help you if you are able to make it to his office hours. The only issue here is that there will already be three or four students clamoring for his help. You HAVE to find time to get in his office. Also prone to outbursts. Screamed at a student for asking a question about one of his quizzes.

Rosenberg is not here to hold your hand, he will lecture, answer valid questions, and ignore ignorant ones. When the red pen comes down, be ready to lose hope, because he's the toughest grader around. But if you apply yourself, do your homework in advance and pay attention in lecture, the curve will save you. And you'll probably learn more, too.

Comment:
Taught Calculus and Analytic Geometry 2 without a textbook. He "makes up" his own problems for homework and tests. His probblems are barely do-able with the resources he gives. Upperclassmen tutors couldn't even help with the homework. 1 student in the class got better than a C, and even that student was in Rosenberg's office religiously.

Worst instructor I've ever had. If you have a problem and don't understand something, he'll just ignore you and say you have an attitude problem. I just want to know what I'm doing. How does that make me have an attitude problem? He needs to find a different job that doesn't require any teaching. Everyone else I've talked to that had him agrees.

Terrible teacher. He just writes down his notes on the board and then assigns homework that has nothing to do with the notes. Then he expects you to write code that he never goes over. How is anyone supposed to know what to do if he doesnt even teach the material? He also freaks out if he asks you a question and you guess what the answer is.

Excellent professor, extremely smart. His courses are extremely challenging, but you will learn more in one of his classes than in any other class you ever take. He literally wrote the book for this course, and gives copies of it for free to students. His grading is incredibly tough, but he curves heavily so it ends up being extremely fair.

Absolutely and completely confusing, I understood more before the class then after. Helpful but the help he gives is more unhelpful than it is helpful.

He knows his stuff very well and expects a lot from his students. If you're in his class, expect to work and work hard. He's one of the only professors I've had who actually cared if I learned anything. If you meet with him, he'll go out of his way to help you succeed.

Doesn't use s textbook for the class, so if you need help you have no choice but to ask him. Only problem is he isn't very helpful at all if you meet with him. Grades extremely harsh and should be avoided at all costs.

He?s terrible at explaining math to anyone who doesn?t intuitively understand it the same way that he does. There is nothing in this man?s life but math, and it shows. Possibly the most boring, egotistical person you'll ever meet. If you are just like him, you?ll probably be ok. If you aren?t, you?ll soon know the meaning of despair.

This professor is mentally unbalanced (.) He's incomprehensible unless you're a math major. He covers material quickly without interaction with student. Basically, he stands up at the board and writes for two hours. Avoid at all costs! He had an altercation with a student over summer and left the class-he refused to sign a form for her. RUN!

Excellent Lecturer. He covers the material the way it should be covered, but he goes over your head. He's also egotistical and very opinionated. If he doesn't like you, you'll probably do poorly. If you're a girl, you'll do fine. If you are looking for someone who won't lie to you, and will do what he can to actually help you...don't take him.

He knows his stuff, but this means that he sometimes gets overly excited about it. Sometimes he really nerds out, but that's why I like him. He's funny because his jokes are so pathetic. The class was challenging in that you couldn't miss much or you'd really fall behind.

The class is so much fun since he gets excited about it. He makes us want to be there. Grading is harsh, but it makes me work harder and write better proofs. Would highly recommend him if you want to actually know the material you are supposed to learn.

Probability. Good prof - helpful all the time-even in the summer. Don't ask him questions until you have already thought it over - he's very helpful and interested that you learn. Almost perfect factually - almost.
