Comment:

Exams are the only really hard thing about this course, and they are very tricky. However, I believe Prof. Russell is one of the two best lecturers I've had in any CS course here. He's extremely easy to follow, explains everything in very simple ways, and his demeanor while speaking makes lectures enjoyable. Highly recommend him if you take 188.

Poorly run class, bare minimum support from course staff and instructors. Russell is an expert in the subject, but his lack of stage presence makes him VERY hard to follow during lectures. If possible, avoid taking the class with him, and try to take it with Dan Klein or Pieter Abbeel instead.

despite being one of the hardest classes i ever took- for me to like a CS class is a big deal (i'm a cog sci major). if you're programming challenged like me- make sure to read the book... it's surprisingly understandable

Nice british accent.. Entertaining to listen to. Test are kind of hard. He's one of the more difficult CS professors, especially for CS188, but he definetely knows his stuff, since he wrote the book for 188.
