She posts her written class notes on connect so it's okay to miss lectures. We had quizzes every week but as long as you study her notes you can easily get 100% on them. Midterm was doable, final exam required more applications. We only had two assignments worth 5% each, and there were no practice midterm/final.

My friends from last year told me she was horrible and boring, but it looks like she took the criticism well and improved a lot. She is clear in her lectures and she shows us that she is interested in teaching. I'm not sure what she did the previous years but she was pretty good this year.

I have no idea what all the bad reviews are about. Suzana is definitely NOT boring (Phys Chem is boring in the first place), she is enthusiastic in her lectures, and even gives out candy! She teaches you what you need to know for exams, and does many practice problems in class. CRYSTAL CLEAR in her explanations. Great Proff, no question

Very boring. Lecture slides are full of pointless derivation of formulas rather than emphasis on concepts and difficult questions. Errors throughout notes. Recommend sitting in on some other section. Textbook isn't the best either.

Her notes are extremely unorganized and she is terrible at explaining concepts. I ended up just going to Addison's lectures for physical chem.

Awful prof. Didn't elaborate at all and skipped over things that other sections learned. Pretty much screwed the entire class for the midterm. Go to other sections ASAP

Really awful. Our entire class complained about not knowing anything and feeling like we were not at all prepared for our upcoming midterms. I'm sad to be paying for this.

She rocks my world because she was answering the discussion board and emails at 11PM the night before the final. Very helpful and clear in her teaching. The course itself was very easy and almost everyone got an A or A+. Study consistently, because learning the concept very early on means little to no stress later.

Not a bad prof at all, really. Lecture is a bit slow but so is the material. I do wish UBC would at least employ one sciences prof that actually attempted to inspire students though. She's pretty good though. just do the practice

this prof teaches really slow..but i think that its pretty good cause then u can get everything she says written down on paper.. and she really goes step by step with her notes which is good too... its just a bit boring sometimes, but otherwise, shes much MUCH better than dr. burnell..

Formula sheet given for the exam....if you have basic math skills, that's all you need. The lectures had close to nothing to do with the midterm (For a couple marks you might have to memorize some obscure thing if you figure it's worth it.)

She can't explain stuffs clearly...i think she has the easiest job in UBC by just reading over her notes in class without needing much work from her brain...tests are reasonable.

her voice is always in lack of energy, except when talking about xray crystallography. easy MT, but doesn't seems to be testing on the focus of the material. cant' explain things.

Not the worst prof for phys chem(worst is Shapiro), but the second worst. The lectures are even more boring then Burkholder's, I didn't think that could be possible. At least Burkholder was clear on what he says, but Straus had major difficulty explaning concepts. Test are easy, but require studying
