Not an actual prof. She doesn't teach, everything is straight from the textbook, lectures aren't engaging and are completely useless. Be prepared to teach yourself from the textbook.

Long and really boring lectures. She posts the lectures online but lots of time their not filled in completely so you have to go to class. She goes on rants about random things. Class is usually empty cause most people don't come to class. Exams are m/c and short answer; m/c from textbook, short answer from powerpoint. NOT A BIRD COURSE!

Very long and boring lectures, questions are irrelevant information pulled out of textbook and far too specific. Be prepared to purchase a $250 book. She takes forever to grade tests as well.

Professor is very nice and helpful when needed. She does NOT make content enjoyable to learn and does NOT make attending lectures fun. Midterm and final multiple choice based on useless statistics found in the atlas or random places in textbook. Does not reflect course content very well. Map quizzes do help with a mark boost.

Be prepared to label 100+ cities/islands/lakes/rivers for every quizzes. Many things she puts on the quizzes are so insignificant they are not even on a map. Not really a bird course. She is all about memorizing and regurgitating material and not thinking critically about anything EVER. pretty horrible class.

Good prof, very boring material. Do not waste time reading textbook. Memorize slides and 85-90 is very attainable. Also easy map quizzes worth 30% of mark.

Probably the easiest course I took at Western - easy 80-90. 30% of your grade are quizzes labeling maps in Canada, no excuse not to get 100% on each. The exams are mainly from the textbook, some questions from the lectures. Not hard to get 75-85 on if you read and take notes. The lectures are EXTREMELY BORING. Like awful. Nice prof, just boring.

Intro to Geography is a piece of cake with this professor. Everyone on here is complaining about her exams, when they're pathetically easy. the uses the same outline for ALL of the exams. many questions are from the textbooks as well as the slides, so memorization of the text is required, however, only 3 chapters her exam.

Pretty easy to get at least 90% on all the quizzes worth 30% of grade. TA said midterm avg was between 82-84%. Just wrote the final, pretty easy. Memorize her slides and an 85+ is easily achievable.

I don't understand why people complain about this courses exams/tests. Her map quizzes are easy and if you study its a free 30% of your mark which you can get 100% on. Her exams, although harder, are not impossible at all. Study her notes and memorize all lists and you will do well. If anyone finds her exams difficult I suggest studying differently

Avoid at all costs. I took her intro geography class in my 4th year, just to round out my degree. THIS IS NOT THE BIRD COURSE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. Her lectures are horrendously boring (and 3 hours long). Her exams are confusing and contain plenty of arbitrary questions. She takes forever to grade work. One of the worst profs I've ever had.

Her map quizzes are really easy and its completely possible to get perfect on all of them (this is a good portion of your mark). Her exams are a fair bit more difficult but it you memorize the notes you'll do ok.

She didn't seem interested in the class. Lectures were extremely boring and dry. She would just sit at her desk and go completely off topic. Slides were disorganized and very vague. Reading the textbook and making my own notes got me a good grade. Exams had questions we'd never discussed before and were worded terribly.

Extremely boring. I had no ambition to attend her classes. Every exam had at least 8 random questions that I had never seen before. Her power points are short and confusing and she herself is boring. She sits behind her desk the entire lecture making it even more difficult to pay attention. She doesn't ever get up from her chair. Lame.

Very boring and dry. Uses difficult to read, disorganized overhead slides. But it's easy to get a good mark if you just go to class and study from her notes. The textbook is clear and easy to read. She takes forever to mark quizzes and exams. Map quizzes are freebies. Understanding and accommodating if you need to write a make-up.

Ok so she takes a long time to mark. In lecture she throws out a lot of extra information which is not on the test. Basically just use the textbook and do the questions that appear at the end of the chapter and you will do very well. Easy class
