Comment:

First day, I thought she was rude, but when you get to know her, she's actually pretty cool, and helpful. She even tutored me during her office hours. She gives 4 HWs a unit, but only grades one, and you have like 2 weeks to do it. I did good on HWs, but bad on tests and quizzes, but still passed. She looks like Justine Shapiro from Globe Trekker.

Comment:

I think she was a really great teacher. She's really helpful, cares about her students, and has a great sense of humor about the material. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone who isn't willing to work hard for their grade but if you don't mind a heavy homework load I think her system leaves her students really prepared for their next math class.

Plain and simple: First two weeks are hell! After that it transformed into a fantastic experience. Most of the reviews about her accent are exaggerated and it's true that the class is hard but like she said in class " if everyone could pass Calculus we would all be engineers". Recommended for those who desire a greater understanding of Calculus!

She is actually really nice person, and she is helpful and understanding if you cannot show up to class if you have a good reason. The class is really hard. It makes your brain numb by the end of the period but I learned a lot and I would take her again.

there isnt much good to say about this teacher.... her accent makes it SUPER difficult to understand, she never answers her emails, and a good majority of the time when someone asked a question she wouldn't answer. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR HER CLASS!!

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews. I took Intermediate Algebra from Goberstien and I really enjoyed the class. I haveherd she is much harder for Calculus because of the twice weekly tests and the homework load.

Despite reading the reviews, I signed up for her class (she was the only one who had openings). If you can, wait a semester and take another teacher. She makes calculus so much harder than it has to be and assigns about 2 hours of homework every night . If you do end up taking her, my advice is to go to class EVERY day and do EVERY assignment.

I went into this class with a positive attitude. Even after reading these reviews. And the second class i lost all hope. When u ask questions about the lesson she is teaching she goes into tangents about a completely different subject. She is hard to understand. Has a strict absence policy and homework is ridiculous.

ok so here's the negative things about this teacher: you can't understand her because if her accent, she is only of little help and I learn from my own I hate the fact that I'm paying for her class when i'm teaching myself, she wants the solutions done the way she wants to although there are other ways that are correct, she makes a whole lot of grading errors in exams and is strict, one notation can make your answer wrong. For the positives, her class helps me sleep.

I didn't understand the way she taught and she wanted all the homework to be in her way. I did not like that because everyone learns differently. I liked it in the beginning then she crams everything in the ending but if you learn this way you should take this class...but i can't.

she is a worhtless teacher. no matter how many time we would ask question she would say it would be our fault for not getting it! it was all her way....we had to learn her methods...even if we used a different way to gewt the same answer she would mark us down! dont take her unless u want to fail!

Was not very helpful,would not answer our questions when asked,would move on to new material. would not review problems on the upcoming test,even after severyl students asked her,and told her we did not understand the material enough, she told the class that she didn't have time.most of us didn't pass the test.If possible take someone else.

Ok so this teacher was extreamly hard! She is and extremly smart teacher but I would not take her as a teacher if your taking algebra. Maybe in a higher level like calculas because she goes easier on her those students but other than that she would be a no no!!

Her russian accent does not interfere too much unless you are really bad with accents. However, she is a very good teacher, and only those who don't get good grades with her seem to complain. Her more advanced students seem to like her more. I think she is a great teacher, and I would take her again, even through she is a bit difficult.

Faina was a great teacher, although you will want to have a strong foundation in math before you take 26 or 30, because she doesn't do a whole lot of review. This class requires a fair amount of work to understand the material, but she does a good job of presenting it.

I got an A after I got an F. She has a thick Russian accent so for the first two weeks I only understood about 1/2 of what she was saying but after you get used to it its not so hard. However, make sure you study.
