Comment:

Dr. Dewey is really nice, but can also be kind of rude. She rushes everything and does like to complain. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school so it was easy for me, but if I were new to the language, this class would've been a nightmare. Quizzes every week, and online homework due every weekday.

If you are truly interested in learning French, including the language and the culture, she's a great professor. If your heart is not into it, you may be better off not taking her classes. To committed students, she can be charming. To the rest, not so much.

This lady gave us assignments on spring break , she's tough but only because she has no idea what the heck she is doing . I know Spanish I grew up in a Hispanic demographic so I don't understand how she made the language harder than it actually is. I wouldn't suggest her only if your looking for a C or less .

She is honestly the most ridiculous professor I've had. She says she's lenient on your work if you have a job, but I had two jobs and my computer crashed. I told her about it and she said he would give me extensions and never did. She also complains entirely too often instead of teaching. She also jumps from one subject to another. She's just.. NO!

I did not like class mainly because everything was based online. You pretty much had to teach yourself. In class, you do not learn anything. Dr. Dewey just complained about computers, technology, and the USA all class. She is a tough grader and does not write on the board during class.

I can tell that she does mean well, it's just a shame that she comes off very aggressively. I was luckily on her good side, but that was only because most of what she taught I already learned in high school. She's impatient and picks on everyone at some point during class so it's best to always show up, pay attention, and be prepared for class.

She comes off strong but means well overall. Many students like to try to walk all over her which takes up class time and that's annoying. Highly recommend if you are okay with her being a little hard on you.

When going to the office hour (literally only one hour), she made extremely condescending remarks, asking me "Do you know how to study?" and stating that I am a weak French student. I got all B's in french 1,2,and 3. This is not " Tough love", but outright bullying to students who are just trying to get help. I will not reach out to her again. BS.

I was not happy with my experience with her course. She assigns works then forgets about it, confusing lectures, rants on about certain topics, belittles students, and I can go on. She is approachable outside of class but inside the classroom I couldn't stand it. Also if you don't know cursive writting avoid this class as that is how she writes.

Dr. Dewey is a very passionate French professor. I have taken her for three courses and although they have been challenging I learned a lot of French and French history! If you enjoy learning and to be pushed Dr. Dewey is for you!

Every day is different with this professor. Some day's she will be eager to lecture and teach, others she will go off on tangents about anything, French-related or not. She assigns work, but forgets about it. Go to class every day so you don't miss anything, she does not e-mail or use D2L. Quiz (more like test-length) every week.

If you actually are interested in learning french, take her. if you just want an easy class, don't. Consistent homeworks and lectures in class but you will get a lot out of it and be glad you did. Doesn't collect nearly as much hw as she assigns but it makes you know the material. Overall, great tough teacher. shes funny sometimes too

You will learn French in this class if you study and do the work. She's tough, but she challenges you to learn if you accept the work. However, she can be very abrasive and I've seen her belittle students in class. She is very hard to approach. Also, she will sometimes assign homework but not collect it, which can be VERY frustrating.

I never had French before, and this class was a challenge for me. Don't be folled byn her tiny size. She wasn't easy to approach about any question, but she taught French well. She does go off in a lot of tangents about how men suck and women do all the work, but that just makes the class fun. I don't recommend skipping more than three times.

People who aren't prepared to actually work in college are the ones who usually complain. Dewey challenges you to MAKE YOU LEARN, not to punish you. I guarantee that if you open your book and actually do the work, you'll get a good grade. I got an A in every class with her, not because I am a French God but because I worked hard and asked questions

Her teaching has gone downhill over the years. She has little to no focus in class, demeans those who have no experience speaking french, and has no set grading system. A very poor teacher in my opinion.
