He needs to put more effort in teaching, not reading from his slides... The class is not hard, but you just can't "learn" anything from him... I definitely was expecting to learn most of the things from class, but that just didn't happen.

Comment:

Laziest teacher ever. I had him for Bioinformatic Techniques and I honestly dont know what he did as the professor. The TAs make the exams and hw and students present more than half of the lectures. He is condescending and rude, he makes you feel dumb if you do not understand something.

Tough class if you don't attend and pay attention to what he's talking about. Ask questions when you don't understand something and he'll answer them. No homework is due, but tests are over the homework so it still has to be done. There is no reason to do poorly. He is one of the best instructors I've had at the UI. There need to be more like him.

Very Mean. Never helped me at all. Gave me o/100 for no reason. GOD I regret taking his class. He would leave the class early expecting the students to do the rest of the work. SO STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY

The bottom 2 comments dated 2010 are very accurate. He is very unorganized, for his teaching methods varied from class to class. Told his other class his mistakes/incorrect info he taught us. Definitely advise to steer clear & choose any other professor offered, for students not in his class fully understood material and were prepared for exams.

Elitist attitude precedes his desire to teach-claims grades are earned by teaching yourself material. Wastes time teaching simple commands right out of the book in class and immediately asks complex programs due by end of period with less than 15 minutes left. Students in other sections had advantage on homework asgnmts. Avoid this guy...

Not very fun. He really doesn't teach you that much. He leaves class early and expects the class to finish the daily program without his assistance. Always discusses his affections for water skiing and such.

If he doesn't like you, he'll accuse you of cheating at the drop of a hat. If he likes you, you'll cruise through to an easy A. More zealous about finding and flunking cheaters than any teacher I've ever seen.

Good prof if he thinks you pay attention in class, oherwise you're screwed. Completely biased testing. I did all the work and got a C. A guy I knew who did half the work also got a C. A guy I knew who did the bare minimum didn't get asked questions on his test, and got extra credit for no reason, possibly to inflate grades and avoid needing a curve
