Comment:
after 2nd class realized he's more interested in talking about chemistry than actually teaching it. didn't go to a single class after that and ended up with an A and chemistry is my weaker subject. used the OWLs to study and what I didn't get from OWL I watched khan academy video on. wish he taught like khan academy instead of rambling

Dr. Hamilton is a very smart man but he's not good at explaining and relaying topics. his test are very difficult and to do well on them you have to understand all the concepts into depth because there are many trick questions. he's a great man but I would not recommend unless your good at teaching yourself topics.

The tests were very fair, if you keep up with the owls you should be fine. Go to class and try to learn stuff before the recitation, youll be much better off that way. Hamilton gives powerpoints everyday, goes easy on the clicker questions, and will help you if you ask him.

Not very good lectures. Had to do most of the learning on my own time. Overall, not too hard of a class though.

Tests are clear and easy to understand. He posts old exams as study guides so you have a good idea of what concepts he wants you to know. Laid-Back, will push back exam and homework dates, and curve exams by 10 points. I felt like he's there to help you succeed, not to fail you. If you can learn on your own, he's a great choice. Pretty funny too.

This class is pretty straightforward. Go over powerpoint slides, SI worksheets, and old practice exams that Dr. Hamilton posts on canvas. He curved every test by 5-20 points and gave easy extra credit opportunities. Easy A if you're willing to try.

He is a genius, but teaching that knowledge to someone else seems almost impossible for him. What I learned from this class was self taught. With that being said, the only benefit from him specifically is that all of the extra (not tests) can bring your grade up almost a whole letter. Test scaled between 10-25 points because average was so low.

This guy doesn't know how to teach chemistry, that is chemistry not relating to beer. First half of the semester all he talked about was beer, examples related to beer, even gave a side lecture dedicated to making beer. Besides beer, our class average was low, he didn't reply to any of my emails, his lectures were horrible. Take someone else.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE WITH PROFESSOR HAMILTON. I am retaking. I thought taking chemistry online in the summer would be easy and a good chance to knock out the class, but no. Homework is required and is NOT extra credit like it is in the actual classes. Too many assignments to keep up with. AND Hamilton is awful. Take James Patterson!

I took this class online, and it was definitely a challenge. However, he does scale the test grades a good bit. He extended deadlines for our class a lot, and the tests were not too terribly hard. It was difficult sometimes to understand the material, but that could have been due to the online class. If you work hard, you will get an A.

Obviously knows the material but is not good at teaching it. I couldn't understand what in the world he was trying to convey in his lectures. The book is helpful, but honestly I ended up going to google to try and learn the material. If you can go to the study sessions or access a tutor, I advise it. There is a group assignment each week.

Dr. Hamilton is a genius, and he doesn't know how to explain the material so that others understand it. During lectures, he would go off topic and state things that we didn't need to know. His power points weren't helpful for review for test time either.

Professor Hamilton is one of those professors that knows all the materials, but doesn't know how to teach it. He is a little scatterbrained. He jumps from material to material and is really hard to keep up with. He is a great professor in he actually wants his students to pass. He listens to the students& even postpone due dates if you ask him.

Professor Hamilton knows exactly what he is talking about but doesn't know how to teach you about it. He forgets to mention very important things unless you remind him. His slideshow lectures are very confusing unless you pay very close attention and can fill in what he misses by yourself. He is a great person, just not a good teacher.

Dr H knows the material well. He doesn't know how to teach it to others. He trys his best. His examples that he works out can be confusing most of the time. If you go to his office hours, attend SI sessions, do the homework assignments, and study the mock exam/old exams, you can pass the class. He also scale his exams and gives extra credit.

Went to class every time before exam 1.. made a 60. Didn't go to one single class before exam 2.. made a 95. If you are go to class and learn type of person, he will not be the professor for you. If you are a learn on your own type of person like me, you'll be just fine. He will email you back within the hour, and his office is always open.

The tests and class are all super easy as long as you bother to do the bare minimum. The online homework assignments are a pain but if you can complete those and look at his mock exam handouts you'll make an A easily.
