Comment:
Professor Goldstein is knowledgeable and has a deep understanding of design. But students in the course who lacked any design background struggled to keep up. Additionally, students may feel uncomfortable to express creativity or participating when they feel their ideas may be belittled in front of the whole class when they didn't align with hers.

Very hot&cold teacher, some days v sweet & other days yells at u over mistakes made that weren't explicitly discussed in class. Passionate about design so makes u read/watch tons of articles and talks 4 an A. Set in her ways about methods & shortcuts. Fair grader on projects, if u show effort & interest she'll like u. Wouldn't take by choice tho.

Abby's classes are pretty tough but rewarding, she expects to see her students working hard. I enjoy her classes and enjoy her company as well, she has a lot to say about Typography especially.

Very moody, can be nice but can be ultra critical and mean. She's a good designer and can be friendly outside of class but expects a lot from people in terms of participation, she lashes out in class at some answers. Unexpectedly stressful for an art class, not always very clear. I think people could learn a lot from her but she could use some help

Not a fan. Always shoots down great student ideas if it's not something she would make. She has low expectations of the caliber of designer so she never shares resources with people trying to get in the field (unless you're in her inner circle--which doesn't mean much, maybe an A). Assignments are overdone and useless in your portfolio.

Doesn't seem to have an interest in her students, only in showcasing her "work." If you like graphic design, don't take this class - it's mostly just cutting and pasting. She picks favorites & doesn't give you the grade you deserve, even after you seek help/advice from her. She's also painfully flaky & talks without direction. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.

Abby has a tendency to tell you that something is no good but not really explain herself. I just figured out early on that you need to extract things from her, she won't necessarily take the time to explain things clearly. But I must say that I learned a lot from Abby and enjoyed her class overall. She's not easy but appreciates effort.

She's a cool and serious designer, but it takes a lot to get an A, but it just makes you try harder. Don't miss class or you will miss out on work time and useful critique. She loves creativity, but for the good grade, make the craft(crops/binding etc) neat.Have a reason for EVERY design choice & HAVE A PRINTOUT FOR evry CLASS,even if its not done.

It's a challenging class, but if you stay on schedule and put effort into the projects, it's easy to get a good grade. She's a knowledgeable professor, and gives you good advice if you just seek it. Oh, and remember, ALWAYS be prepared in class with something printed out, no matter how unfinished it is!

very hard grader. very unclear in directions and what she wants from you. doesn't give very useful criticism. the final project was the biggest waste of time ever. i hated going to this class even though i'm very interested in graphic design.

Had her for Graphic Design I. Horrible experience. Not helpful, learn nothing. No actual designing, just a lot of cut and paste. I'd go back to kindergarten if I wanted to do that. Don't recommend.

Teacher is not involved in projects, gives only one final grade. Her grading methods are unfair, she will praise your projects and then give you a low grade. She has her favorites among students and if you're not one of them you'll not get a high grade.
