Comment:

Goldman is a great professor and cares about his students. His lectures are a little dry, but the material he presents is very fascinating. Only two exams and an optional paper, but the exams are not bad. He gives you a study guide, and if it's not in the guide, it's not on the exam.

Only gives three exams throughout the whole semester. No other assignments make a part of your grade. His lectures are very passionate, you can tell that he enjoys his work, but they tend to be very long, boring, and repetitive.

Comment:

Very passionate teacher, very easy to follow and understand, gives accurate and interesting perspectives. Gives you study guides to fill out with all material that will be on test (if not in study guide, not on test). If you fill it out, study it a few times, go to class and take notes, you are guaranteed an A+ in the class. Requires discipline.

Professor is very straight to the point, but deeply interested in the matters at hand as well.He is a Harvard Graduate and extremely smart, teaches you tons of information in one semester. He is always eager to answer your questions and isn't one sided by any means. Truly a plus to have a genuine Professor for once instead of all the hired Grads

Really nice guy, but HORRIBLY BORING. A lot of text reading & articles. Attendance is mandatory or you won't get the notes. I never go to class bc I can't stand how boring it is (but I do read the text), & I only pull an avg of B- on the exams. They're not that easy. 3 exams are your only grades, no final.

Easy class, but horribly boring. Towards the middle of the semester I figured out that I didn't really have to go. If you just read the book and the assigned articles you'll get an easy A. There's no extra credit, but tests are curved. He's a good professor and knows the subject well, he just doesn't know how to present it in an interesting way

Lectures can be boring sometimes depending on the topic. He is easy to talk to and will answer e-mail. You must read the chapters in depth in order to do well on tests. Few questions come from class lectures on charts/graphs/examples he gives in class. Not an easy A however, a lot of studying is required. Being in class is essential.

This class was not too hard. There were 3 exams, no final. I pulled an all-nighter before each test doing the readings (maybe 150-200 pgs), and got a B+ in the class. Tests are pretty vague and cover lecture material AND readings. Nice guy, class wasn't to boring.. a lot of time I surfed the net. Go to class and read and you'll do fine.

This class is EXTREMELY boring! It is not an easy A at all. He lectures and stutters about irrelevant material. The exams are very in depth and require tons of studying and reading. Do not take this class!!

His class is not easy, but,it's not supposed to be.It's a junior level course. Obviously, your not going to get spoonfed.I personally enjoyed the challenge. If you attend class regularly,take good notes, and read the lecture material,you'll be fine.It'd be nice if put his powerpoints online, though.

He honestly loved teaching our class. A significant number of questions on our exams were from lecture notes. There was quite a bit of reading. It was very refreshing to talk with him about current events or anything pertinent to the class.

A somewhat easy class. Just need to study the book and read the articles before the exams. Lectures involve ALOT of graphs and maps, not quite note-worthy stuff but the class is good. Recommended.

All I have to say is I believe Ave Goldman to be the devil. I was actually excited to take his class, until the first 20 minutes. Then I realized what a long semester it was going to be. Don't take him, trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though it was a 3-hour class, I never fell asleep once. He provided food and coffee to the whole class, and the discussions were engaging. I learned a lot!
