Comment:

Denis is a ray of sunshine in a dark world. She is so sweet and would always greet us with a big "buenos díaaaaaassss!!!!" and a huge smile. The content is pretty interesting, but even if it isn't, she makes you want to care. Lots of one page "ensayitos" for the readings.

Prof. Heyck's class was amazing! For the class you're require to do an individual presentation and a few group projects. As long as you participate, you'll be fine. There's also (4) 1-pg essays. The midterm is 4-5 pgs as well as the final essay. Meet with her during office hours if you have any Q's, she will totally help you.

Profesora Heyck is an absolute dream. She loves Spanish, loves her students, and loves teaching. She is always happy, positive, and flexible. She understands that life happens. She created the Advanced Oral Expression class, so she's especially invested in it. Take anything you can with her, she's the absolute best!

Comment:

Now here's a professor who genuinely LOVES teaching Spanish. Her face lights up whenever our class is engaged in fruitful discussion. Always is excited to be around students. Also, go to her office hours - She offers you tea/coffee and lots and lots of chocolate!

Dr. Heyck will melt your heart. She is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet and it really shows in her teaching style. Not only is she always excited for class, but she makes you excited about the material as well. She cares about each and every student and is very understanding. Prof Heyck is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is very passionate about what she does, and very good at it as well. Ok, the fact that she places emphasis on writing is crucial, because that is how you learn the language. A lot of profs don't emphasize writing enough. And she has got to be the best Spanish prof. I ever had! She is brimming with passion for her work! I love her 10x over. You will too.Trust me, take her.The class is pure pleasure.So worth it.Go!

I feel like the class should be more based on talking rather than writing because that is what most of us are going to use. I feel like she places too much emphasis on writing. By far one of the most patient profs. ever. She always finds a way to make time, go over what you are struggling with, and encourage you to keep trying and practicing. The class can be challenging, as any college level course hopefully is. However, with a
