Recommend. Occasional group work, not my favorite thing to do, but effective. Love the logic puzzles. MC tests, questions come from lecture AND book, so pay attention and take good notes! One of his tests had hilarious option D answers, gave me the giggles! Neg: walk out mid-class, lose a full letter grade. This policy seems extreme.

easy to understand, tries to engage his class. sometimes a little scattered... but does keep current is fun... tests have a little tricky to them and does have way to much extra stuff... book use is low, had to get outside material to help some tests included lots of lecture and some lecture was about 10 percent of the test

HE IS A GOOD PROFESSOR DON'T GET ME WRONG ITS JUST THAT HE DOESN'T REALLY USE THE BOOK! HE NEVER TALKS ABOUT ONE THING HE JUMPS FROM SUBJECT TO SUBJECT AND ITS CONFUSING WHEN YOUR REALLY TRYING TO UNDERSTANDING HIM. HE DOESN'T SPEAK LOUD ENOUGH AND THAT'S A PROBLEM WHEN YOUR IN THE BACK OF HIS CLASS.

I took an online class from him and it was horrible.I took online classes before, but never one as confusing as this.There were emails between students of total confusion?It was hard to do group assignments online too. We did not have any vocabulary for the online class. Some people dropped his class at the very beginning and I know why now.

Best teacher ever! If you read the objectives and learn your vocabulary u will get atleast a B on the test, logic puzzles are fun and he will help you out on the final paper if u ask him for help. He knows his stuff and has great connections, good looking and very respectful.

I love this guy!He is very professional and overall a great teacher... READ YOUR BOOK,learn the vocab, and attend the lectures. I like teachers that actually make me think/work but do not over do it, he's like that. It's not an easy A but if you fail its b/c you didn't try at all!

Ever watch paint dry? Santos paces back and forth. Drove me crazy. He rarely taught. We were expected to take turns presenting a lesson. Puzzles easy. Only 4 tests and a research paper. Not enough info about the paper early enough in the semester. Simulations were not explained well and seemed pointless. World cafe discussions were best part.

This guy was great. Yes, I dropped his class, but he was not the reason. If you love POLS, excpecialy if it's your major, then this guy is you man. The loggic Puzzles do get a little hard, but they're okay. All in all this professor was pretty good.

Had him for Hispanic Politics. He's very clear but uses an outdated book. Frustrating! Only 4 essays, 1 res paper. Grading is difficult to understand. Must come to class. Class is mostly open forum/discussio. If you write well, attend class, need to do the extra credit (easy), you'll have an A. Loved the logic puzzles!

you gotta love the good dr. santos. he makes lectures interesting and encourages class participation. he's kind of funny and challenges his students. don't take this class early in the morning though, as cool as he is, political science is still a little too much in the morning.

He is not a good professor, daily he comes in and talks about current events, and then the last 20 minutes of class he may lecture (sometimes lecturing on something having nothing to do w/class). Now I don't mnd having a teacher that doesnt talk about the subject...but dude, dont make the test as hard as a teacher would that actually teaches.

If you need help finding an organization or honor society to become a part of he’s the man to talk to. However, he's not a good professor. I don’t believe he actually read any of our essays that we turned in (no one made a 100). Make sure you do your logic puzzles. Lecture was boring and repetitive. Don't recommend him or this class.

does a good job of tying in current events into lecture....but gossips way too much....not as biased as most political science teachers, but shows to which side he's leaning...believes in logic puzzles and volunteering for local campaigns....the problem was i didnt give a rats ass about local politics.

LAZY/BORING prof! Dont buy the books cause you wont need them. No tests/quizes. Just 4 essays & then a research paper. Everyone seems to get the same grade on essays; I doubt he reads them. Class was a waste of time & I didnt learn anything. He doesnt respond to emails & only seemed to care about writing his book & mooching off of student ideas.
