Do not expect this class to be structured like APGov. Everything is discussion based and centered around readings. Homework is minimum (posting to a discussion forum and occasional papers). Wurth is super nice and entertaining. Would recommend if you're not wanting a traditional government class. Midterm is hard if you haven't taken gov before.

fun conversations in class sometimes but you do NOTHING in class and then are expected to know so so so much for the midterm. Not hard at all just really really tedious. Basically the class is APUSH all over again, but this time you teach yourself.

This professor teaches you nothing. He sits that an babbles for an entire period and doesn't actually help you learn the material he assigns for hw. His readings are very old, outdated, long, and boring. Class moves very slowly and he covers very little material. I could have learned everything in 1 month but its dragged out. Don't take his class.

To be honest, his class wasnt that boring, the problem in terms of class was that he makes attendance mandatory. For an intro to politics class he made it way to hard, especially with the pop-quizs and tests. Also he is very enviro-oriented and takes a whole segment to learn about that

This class was perhaps the least fulfilling class I've ever taken at Lehigh. For a professor who teaches about technology, he knows very little about it. His readings are dated and he just rants about technology the whole time.

Totally shocked by the ratings on here. This professor completely ruined my semester. Imposing his own views on the class, not accepting of other opinions. Readings are a painfully repetitive 30-40 pages a class, 3 times a week. Professor was disrespectful towards class and was completely useless in terms of teaching actual material. AVOID.

Thought it would be easy NS credits but it was actually a lot of work. Great guy, but boring class. Two tests, paper for final and huge group project assigned last month of school. Class is a lot more time consuming than I had wanted, but interesting if you're into E Sci.

great prof! extremely funny with a very dry sense of humor. highly recommend his classes. Grades very fairly and allows students to shape the grade allocations for different assignments

Comment:

Good class, good professor. Requires frequent writing assignments so you're always working on something for the class; however, they're short and therefore not overwhelming. Readings are a bit dated and dry. Funny and helpful, but not always very well focused. Tends to go off on tangents. Classes were very comfortable and laid-back. Not organized.

Comment:

Wurth taught a module of my ES 10 class. Very nice, funny guy, with an Einsteinish appearance. I really enjoyed his teaching style, which was almost conversationalist. Readings were tough, but never without a purpose. I'd recommend him if you hate normal lectures.

Dated assignments and readings. Disorganized and sporadic method of instruction. Nice guy and a fair grader. Very intelligent but not the best at getting the information across to the students. Class can get tedious at times. Give him a try, some students seem to react to his laid back teaching method better than others.

Interesting class and great professor. If you show an interest, he'll be over the moon. He really cares about 1) the subject; and 2) students learning and understanding. You'll find he definitely has a position but respects people who disagree.

I dont know what the guy before me was on but this professor is a farse- sad excuse for a teacher! Most disorganized,incoherent person ever experianced! Avoid this class like its the plauge! Final exam 9 PM on a sunday! Unexecusable!

Best teacher I've ever had. Will give you all the information and entertainment you've ever needed in a course. Even rides his bike to work everyday! Love him. Love the beard too.
