Comment:

She is a demanding prof, but if you prove that you are willing to do the work and participate, she grades fair. She grades hard on the paper, but if you do the rough draft, she helps you a lot. The two tests are not difficult if you study but also pay attention in class because most of it comes right from her lectures. Worth it if interested in law

Comment:

The class is really easy, just do the work. The small group setting is nice, and it makes the class more fun. She offers snacks in between which provides a nice break. BUT: She is absolutely insufferable. She's horribly rude, nasty, made me despise her class, and she goes over 2.5 hours often. Great class, nice structure, content great, prof=awful.

My favorite professor at Loyola by far. Those who say she is mean are probably the people who refused to put in the effort. Do the reading, she will call on you. If you know what you are talking about and can prove that the class matters to you, she will respect you back. I found her approachable and felt she cared about me and my grade.

Not for wimps. If you can't handle her don't bother going to law school. Most of the people complain because they think that this is as easy as any other course, THIS IS PRE LAW. Turn in the draft, it is possible to A the paper, I did. Study HARD for the tests however don't expect this to be your average walk in the park class. Not 4 wimps.

even as a pre-law student I don't believe she was worth the money. I would rank her as highly disorganized. I asked her what my grade was for a presentation, she looked in her book and said she doesn't know, it can be anywhere between -B and -A. I never found out what I got for my presentation nor for participation. She's a horrible creature

Dr. Mezey is a very demanding prof. If you study, the midterm and the final are not difficult. There is a term paper, however, which is grades VERY harshly. Also, if you ask what she decides is a dumb question, perpare to be insulted in front of everyone. She can be rude and demanding, but she knows her stuff and is worth it for any prelaw student.

Mezey is an ass. I would advise any-1 considering 2 take this class 2 evaluate your GPA 1st and ask yourself if u can afford it 2 drop. She has no tolerance for fair grading. She tells u to add an item to a paper & then when u do it, shell ask what was ur purpose in putting it there. She is 2 liberal to give an accurate lecture on the Constitution.

Mezey is tough, if you aren't really interested in the subject matter, avoid the class. She is very liberal, and most people think that means you can't be conservative in her class. You can, but you have to be able to argue your reasoning. If you can't make your case well, she will eviscerate you. Definitely worth taking.

Dr. Mezey is the type of professor who should have never become involved with teaching. Unless you are very liberal, and enjoy kissing ass on a daily basis, look elswhere. Most Loyola faculty allow and encourage students to formulate their own opinions; Dr. Mezey punishes you for doing so. Look elswhere for a taste of the law, Dr. Mezey is awful.

Dr.Mezey is very good at what she does.She can get dry and unless you are fairly engaged in Con-Law to begin with, Id think twice before taking her.If "pre-law," definitely must take both of her classes.She's hard on you but it's worth it.Two hard tests and a 10 page paper. Participate or she gets irritated.

Dr. Mezey will not tolerate your non-participation. Read the material and always be prepared to be called on. She is very knowledgeable and her ears are always open. Her ability to weave lectures through engaging class discussions is admirable - artful. Hers is the precise type of challenge necessary for the subject. Meet with her. She's on point.

Mezey is very biased and has a brash, tough as nail personality. The only advice I can give is do not take Mezey and DANFORD at the same time PLSC students... You will rue the day! Mezey is very much so on the left side of politics so regurgitate what she teaches don't deviate and you'll get a good grade.... at the expense of your conscience : )

Dr. Mezey is certainly of an acquired taste, however, but the knowledge you will gain from the course makes it worth it. She can be somewhat biased and rude at times, but again, it's definitely worth it. I would definitely take her class again. On sabbatical 2005-2006 school year to write another book.

Dr. Mezey is a wonderful professor! Very committed to her students and extremely knowledgable about law and political science in general. Take her classes if you really want to learn something and to get the best out of your political science education at Loyola.
