Ten years after graduating from LSC, Alan is still someone that I view as the most influential professor I've ever had. He did an amazing job continuously helping students understand and refine their individual talent(s) as writers. To this day, I don't believe I would have had half of the success that I've had without his advice and mentorship.

Alan was not only my favorite professor, but also one of the most interesting and thoughtful people I met at LSC. He cares about your success, but you must also earn it. He was truly one of the first people, as an adult, that I truly looked up to and whose advice always received heavy consideration. Quality teacher, quality human being.

Was very understandinglenient about busy lives given condensed class. Always seemed to comment saying we didn't get the point of the assignment - not well at explaining things even though he'd make time to do group chats to answer questions. A ton of reading - unable to finish it all. Tough grader. Formatting important. Wanted elaborate discussion
