Comment:
Her classes lack structure, and the topics for her essays are way too broad. She tries to be tough to make you better, but it was counterproductive. We also bought several books that we *never* touched. I have never gotten below an A in an ENG course before I took one with her. I know she had a lot going on this semester, but I learned nothing. :(

Battigelli is a good person but difficult grader. She is willing to work with you on your papers but won't be 100% clear in what she wants you to fix. There are only 4 papers which count for most of your grade and lots of quizzes.

Battigelli is a nice person when you talk one-on-one with her, but as a professor, she is one of the worst ones I've met in the English department. I took her for Shakespeare and Jane Austen, and both courses had A LOT of reading. Especially the Austen class since she worships every word Austen ever wrote, so don't take it because it's painful.

She acts like she cares and I think she does, but it really surprises me how demeaning, aggressive, and downright rude she can be at times. Writing is my passion and the only grade below A I recieved in a college English class was from her, which frustrated me as her complaints were unclear and I felt that I followed her prompt. Wont take again.

She's a nice woman, don' get me wrong but sometimes her sass comes out when she feels some type of way about something, Sometimes need to get extra clarification on assignments. SO SO MUCH reading. I think I had to rent 6 books for her class. Long, complex essay assignments. Class is mostly just a discussion about what we've read and going in depth

She was not very helpful. I went to her several times to get clarity on the works we were reading, the essays assigned and she was not too helpful. She called on the same people during class and yes, she does think she is something special.Not.

Well... it was a grammar class. If you're the biggish ENG nerd on earth than you'll do great! I consider writing one of my strengths and passed Dr. B's Expository Writing with a B+. She is very helpful, occasionally arrogant, although I don't think she realizes. Overall, I would take another class with her.

I've taken four classes with Doctor B. She is a fantastic professor, probably the best in Plattsburgh. She's kind, helpful and truly cares for her students. If you're looking for an easy A, she's not for you, but she will challenge you, and she will make you better. Come to class with the material read, and papers done. She'll help you succeed.

I've actually never taken a class from her, but she's my ENG advisor. She's the best advisor I've ever had & I've changed schools and majors a lot. I'm not sure if I ever would have got my classes organized to graduate without her. She worked for me & seems like a perfectionist-she did a great job! It's very hard to find a great advisor-she is!

Doctor B is by far one of the best professors at Plattsburgh. She's hard. She's not going to let anyone just skate by, but she's fair as well. She looks for growth and to see how far the student has come. I had her for 3 class in one semester, Eng 195, Eng 301 and her Milton course. She's just fantastic and my favorite professor.

I had Dr. Battigelli as an advisor. She tried to convince me that becoming a teacher is hopeless and that I should peruse other things. I didn?t care for her as an advisor nor as a teacher. She boast?s about her book at least 4 times per class ?I?m a writer? ? Yes Anna we know you?ve been published. We began making bets on how many times she woul

Magnificent teacher. Not the easiest grader. She will teach you to be the best writer you can be. She cares as long as you care. Very passionate about the material. Every english major should take her. You will come out of her class as a stronger writer if you take it seriously

She's a great teacher but, she's a bit tough. She's tough because she wants to make sure you understand how to write, analyze etc. She's one of the teachers that won't let you skate by. She actually cares if you retain the material. The discussions in class are fantastic! She's not an easy teacher, but you'll learn alot.

Batigelli is overall a good teacher. I wouldn't have her as your top choice, but if your willing for a challenge she pushes you to become the best writer/reader you can be. No tests/quizzes, just 4 main papers and quite a bit of reading. Class go better towards the end of the year, but she's demeaning. Be careful.

Dr. Battigelli is intellectually challenging, extremely excited about the material, and genuinely concerned about her students. She goes out of her way to get to know you, and she will offer you help outside the classroom. She goes above and beyond her duties as a teacher and is a great advisor, too.

She's an awesome person.. she actually tries to get to know your name and who you are... Read the homework (which is interesting anyway) and you'll be fine... her tests are straight forward no tricky questions so do the work and you'll be fine
