Dr. Schultz is by far the worst professor I have ever had. She will ramble on about random topics and yell at the class because nobody is taking notes of her rambling. She does not explain directions well enough and expects you to understand every thing she is talking about. I will never ever take a class that is taught by her again.

Professor Schultz the worst teacher I can imagine. She plays favorites to no end, is incredibly unclear with all instructions, and does nothing to explain herself when questions are asked, instead preferring to swear at us and driving the whole class to mental breakdowns. We wrote an insane amount of papers, & no one in the class learned anything.

She was easily the hardest grader I've had here. She's very biased toward her students - if she doesn't like you, you won't get a good grade. Very tough with grammar, values that moreover content. If you have a couple grammatical mistakes she will take a letter grade off.

She gives a lot of readings and doesn't do much teaching. Takes forever to get test and papers back.

A lot of people told me not to take a class with April Schultz. After taking the class, I still don't see why people don't like Dr. Schultz so much. There was a lot of reading, but you can get by if you did some of the reading. Most classes were discussions and you just have to participate and you will get a good grade. Test prompts were easy.

From my experience in a 100 level class, April Schultz values EFFORT above all other things. We had a paper worth 40% of our grade, so I discussed my topic with her and went to the writing center. Since I showed I cared about her class, I got one of the best paper grades at an A-. And for those who got a lower grade, she let them rewrite the paper

Dr. Schultz really knows her stuff and expects you to know it for class as well. The content of the class was very interesting, but she is a very hard grader. For one semester she only took three grades. There is a lot of mandatory reading, but it's worth it.

She is a nice lady, but she is extremely difficult. Do not take her unless you are REALLY interested in the material and a FANTASTIC writer. I would not recommend this class to anyone who is trying to keep their GPA up.

She expects lots of effort from students. If you just want a gen ed, don't take her. I've had her a few times and love her, but I've worked probably the hardest I ever have in her classes. You learn SO MUCH. She knows her stuff. Be prepared for long readings, essay tests, reading multiple mandatory books, lots of participation and group projects

Very unclear about her work. she changes her mind on what she wants and makes assignments up as we go. Definitely did not make my May term worthwhile! Interesting class but if you are not on her favorite list, then she doesn't care about you or your grade.

What's with the comments calling Prof. Schultz a feminist like it's a bad thing? She teaches women's studies classes, I would hope she supports women's rights. For guys who are that sensitive about your privilege, this probably isn't the class for you. I personally enjoyed the class and learned a lot.

i'm now a sophomore, and i'd definitely say she's been the toughest I've had yet. She demands a very simplistic and concrete writing style which for me and other students was tough to adapt to. The highest grade I got in the class was on the final (B-), i pretty much busted myself all year for a B-, honestly not worth taking.

I was really looking forward to this class. But then, she ruined it for everybody. She was the toughest grader I had ever met. She never gave helpful notes on revisions, and all she did was swear and get mad at us. I do not like this woman one bit.

Women & the American Experience was a really fun class. The topic is interesting and April is very engaging. She obviously loves what she teaches and it shows in the effort she puts into class. Definitely do the readings EVERY time because we discuss them for most of the class period. Highly recommend this class/professor.

The class was pretty hard, and not well-suited for non-majors, but April is a really great professor who brings the subject to life with great discussions, and really interesting projects. If you're willing to work, you'll get a lot out of her class.

She's super nice and willing to help, but this class is NOT the one to take to just fulfil a gen ed. Hist of woman experience was way too much work, her group projects will make you want to die.
