Wonderful professor! Dr. Sunshine is incredibly sweet and if you participate in class and show a general interest she will remember you when it comes time to hand out final grades. Always do the extra credit and make sure you buy the textbook--she writes it.

She is an absolutely horrendous professor. The exams are nearly impossoble and there are only three throughout the semester. I had no absenses throughout the entire semester but that didn't seem to matter. She asked the most obscure questions on the exams half of which she didn't teach. She cannot handle the class and is not a nice woman. AWFUL!!!!

she is such a nice professor, however this class is not an easy A. Her exams are really hard but do all the extra credit... it helps a lot. I got a 76 on the first test but it ended up to be a 96 b/c of all the extra credit I did.

This class is very difficult. What she teaches in class is vague. Her tests are 1/2 notes from class and 1/2 from readings in the textbook. The only way to pass this class is to do ALL the extra credit. It will really help a lot. Make sure you don't miss more than 4 classes. She's not a great teacher. Wouldn't recommend this class

her tests are based off of very obscure material. I read the chapters several times over and knew the notes like the back of my hand but found them difficult anyway. she often looses control of the class and often and when she does lecture the whole time its almost the exact same thing as in the text book. Overall noce lady not a good teacher

One of the best professors I've had!!! She explains A LOT about what she teaches, she is more than willing to help as long as you ask for it. Her assignments are to be expected for the course. Extra credit all the time. She does require a lot of reading. Test are exactly what you study and the notes she give you!! Extra credit can vary on types

Good teacher. will give you a million dollars if you take intro to american govt. Take the class to find out more details. Tests are hard but she gives a lot of e.c. you need to take notes to pass the class. There's a lot of textbook reading for the tests.

She's a fairly good instructor, very intelligent and passionate. The only real problem I had with her were her exams. They just felt unnecessarily hard and confusing, almost like she was going out of her way for students not to do well on them. She gives a ton of extra credit however, which can easily make the difference.

Great professor. She is very nice and reasonable my only complaint is that she gives her political views as fact instead of opinion. I would defiantly recommend her classes, the tests are difficult but the subject is interesting and valuable. Plus all homework is extra credit and that really helps.

Comment:

Dr. Sunshine's political science course taught me a great deal about politics, and in particular about the U.S. government. Lectures are informative, tests are a combination of your assigned readings and lecture notesvideos, and attendance is mandatory. Having said that, you'll have plenty extra-credit opportunities. My advice, do them.

Her tests are not easy but they're not impossible, 75 LEC, 25Text. I mean, she gives like 30 points of extra credit assignments for every exam all hw are optional extra credit. HW consists of summarize SOTU speech in a paragraph, attend the Pol. Sci club, and take a selfie at a historical site. She's pretty funny and her lectures are clear.

Be warned: you can't use your laptop! Nice lady, but yeah her tests are crazy hard. MAKE SURE TO READ THE BOOK OR YOU WILL FAIL. Lots of extra credit, make sure to do them all! I got a 60 on a test but it turned into an 80 with extra credit :). If you study hard you can get an A. Attendance is very important to her btw.

BUY THE TEXTBOOK. Whatever you do, get the textbook, you more than likely won't use it in class but you'll NEED it for papers and tests. Her tests are half based on lectures and reading you do on your own. To pass with a good grade on the tests you have to take really good notes which you get by listening, she doesn't write them down and read.

Her tests are NOT difficult, but you have to study for them. If you're looking for an A, you have to read the textbook and the reader, because your final grade is based solely on three tests(she drops the lowest test grade). Do the extra credits, copy down the notes that she puts up on the board, read the textbook/reader, and you'll get an A.

She is a very nice woman, but her tests are notoriously unfair and difficult. Knowing this, she chooses to give ample amounts of extra credit. It's not uncommon to go into an exam with 30 points racked up! Take her if you have to, I would avoid the Honors Level by the way.

Prof. Sunshine is an amazing professor. The only people who complain about her are the ones who are immature and put no effort into school. You WILL learn a lot from this class. DO the extra credits!! - you will be glad you did. She is totally fair and you will have a great understanding of politics. One of the best at RCC.
