Comment:

The WORST professor I have ever had. She does not get into the material at all, expects you to go above and beyond during assignments, when she can not take the time to teach the material. She never makes herself available for office hours. She has tenure and it really shows that she does not care anymore and uses the comfort of this security.

This professor opened my eyes to the world of feminism and social justice. I thought she was a thought provoking, intelligent and all around superb professor. And while it may be easy to associate her cool and collected demeanor as "grandmotherly" as a below commentor described her, the fire she lit in me will burn for the rest of my life.

She is a very loving and caring professor. Has a multiple quizzes although they come straight from the readings. Assigns two 12 page essays, although it's on your own life so it can be very easy. Incredibly funny and is very knowledgable. You will wish she is your grandmother by the end of the semester. Highly recommend!

Barbara Kasper is an amazing professor. She is awe inspiring and someone I highly respect and look up to. She is incredibly thorough and yet easy to understand. She gives great meaning to the course and is a fair, easy-going professor. I have no complaints about Kasper or the course. It was a great experience and I'm sad it's over.

The worst professor ever. Does not like opposing views. Has far too many guest speakers. Class is very boring and tedious. Assigns long meaningless papers, hated this class with a passion.

There are two major papers for the semester, about 15 pages each. At first it may seem like a lot but they're pretty easy to write as long as you incorporate information from the text. She also adds humor to the class, so it's never too dull of a class. There's one group project you have to do and you will have to present once in front of the class

Barb is great! Great sense of humor and very engaging. Awesome insight and helps when you ask for it. (TIP: Work on the personal profile and genogram throughout the semester! It goes smoother that way.) Read the book, or at least skim it and you can pass the tests.

Good professor, knows the material and can teach it. loves making students laugh, and she is moderately funny. Papers are LONG but that goes for all professors who teach this course. She is pretty cooperative with assignments and willing to help. Quizes are pretty easy, scored above 90 on all quizzes without reading much. Course syllabus changes constantly but that is also pretty much the same for all my courses.

Her quizes are hard and if she makes a mistake on them she doesn't fix the problem. She is very vague and doesn't really help with questions or assignment instructions. She takes off points for things that are not your fault and she knows it but doesn't care. For example she makes a mistake on a quiz question and you get it wrong, she won't care.

She is probably the best teacher I ever had. I feel enlightened after take this class and witnessing the passion she has for womens issues. Anyone who ever said soemthing misogynistic, she always kept her cool. Content-wise, I learned so much! I'm going to miss it.

I loved how un-biased Professor Kasper was. She had her opinions and wanted to reach out to all studentsbut never ever looked down on any students who had different opinions. Very interesting teacher and kept class fun. I loved her and would recommend this clas to everyone. In fact I think it should be required for every major to graduate.

kasper is amazing. had her for hbse and womens lives. although i worked really hard in her class i still was disappointed that i didnt get a little higher. decently tough grader. do things on time. never bought the txtbook but could have benefited from it for writing papers. I had Kasper for SWO 301 and she was great. She explained the material well and is always there for help. Her grading is fair people who are not writers should become better writers, especially in the social work field. She had awesome examples and overall a great professor just stay up to date with assignments and u will be fine

I have taken several classes with Kasper and I find her to be extremely interesting and helpful. She does talk a lot about feminism but in ways that are very helpful to others and about things that ignorant people should be informed of. I loved her classes!

Excellent class. Insightful. I learned a great deal about topics I knew almost nothing about. Professor Kasper is a very motivational presenter who made learning about modern feminism exciting. Hope to take more classes from her in the future.
