Betsey is amazing, simply put. She challenges you, some people don't like that. She is a free spirit and is always posing interesting questions about life and art. It's great that you can really speak one-on-one with Betsey, she's knowledgeable, and one of the most passionate professors I have ever met.

Comment:

At first she was intimidating because I found her extremely hard to read, such as facial expressions. I guess I did not feel very welcomed by the class as a whole, but as I am in my second class with her my opinion has changed drastically. I've learned a ton and she has asked deep questions which awakened a stronger painter in myself.

Betsey in an incredible person! I have learned more from her than any other professor I've ever had. She's very supportive of your personal growth as an artist. Everything she says is so insightful and thoughtful. Her class is tough, but only because she has your best interest in mind and she wants to see you succeed.

Betsy is a good painting professor, although sometimes can be frustrating bc she doesn't always make sense or back off enough to let you concentrate. A large part of the grade, however, is based on things like attendence, tardiness, and whether you've done all the hw's, which is pretty fair. She is very nice & intelligent; interesting person.

Betsy opened my mind more then any other professor, or teacher i have ever had. Shes the reason i want to be a painting major. Yes, she can be spacy, yes she can be flaky but thats why shes a beautiful artist and person. She takes a personal interest in her students and recognizes that every artist and student is so different.

Betsey is an amazing teacher. Without Betsey I know I wouldn't be the painter I am today. Although some might see her as too eccentric, I find that if you really listen to what she has to say you will discover more about yourself. With this greater understanding of who you are you will be able to produce incredible work. I love Otto too!!

Betsey was absolutely fantastic. I went in as a graduate student who thought I knew how to paint anything. Wow, was I wrong. She taught me so much! She helped me achieve far beyond what I ever thought I could. I will be taking as many classes as I can with her in the future! If you are serious about learning, take her class. I LOVE her dogs

Betsy likes what she likes...bright, weird colors. She might say something is great, but when she grades it, it's not so good anymore...or the other way around. She changes her mind a lot and wants everyone to be a perfectionist like her.

Betsy was awesome. My first class she was tough. I felt I hat to paint realistically. But in Painting two she was very encouraging in my abstract work. Malcom got ahold of one of my razor blades once. Oh scary! he was fine. a bugger but cute. I feel that betsy has helped foster my creativity alot.

Besty is a great teacher,as well as a great artist. Most students don't get her teaching style which is not very hands on, but rather that she ives the artists space to figure out there own path not to stifle their creativity or concentration.

I will admit Betsy is a little eccentric. But despite popular opinion I really liked her. I think she knows what shes doing and I learned a lot from her. One of my only criticisms would be that she favors certain styles over others.

Malcom, her dog, which she brings everywhere, ruined all my work. She's a wannabe painter, who can't hack it in the real world, so she teaches here. The school can't get rid of her because she's got tenure. Even the other professors complain about her.
