Comment:
Bruce is super passionate. He is very open to deep discussion about the topics in class, but the tests will ask you to outline the exact thought patterns and explanations he gives in class. Good opportunity to broaden your view of philosophy while getting a good grade (provided you go to class, which you will lose marks for not doing(

Bruce is a very engaging professor who builds conceptual framework then lets his students bridge the gaps. Very approachable, always willing to sit down and have an intellectual conversation, or even just a chat. You'll need to put in some heavy work, but it is certainly rewarding.

Honestly the best professor I've ever had. His lectures are intelligently prepared and fascinating. His Ecstasy and Excess course is by far the best I've ever taken. Although he is not necessarily easy, his material is very interesting and he tries hard to make inaccessible ideas understandable. His stories about Alfonso Lingis were intriguing.

Bruce is such a wonderful prof! His courses are difficult but by the end you will be amazed with how much you have learned. I am always amazed by his knowledge, but not intimidated because he is very kind as well. He really teaches you how to have wonder and awe. All Bishops students should take one of his courses, we are so lucky to have him here!

One of the most engaging and dynamic professors at Bishop's. If you have no interest in philosophy, you will find the course challenging and dense, however. If you're into philosophy, you MUST take his classes.

Bruce is a great prof, despite the raptor-walk. As far as assignments go, in my experience in his philosophy classes they're quite reasonable. Very intelligent, leans towards marxist and hegelian philosophy, which could either be good or bad, depending on how much sense you have. A prince among men.

Easily one of the most "cultured" profs at Bishops. Everything to him "beautiful". Listens to students, even some of the stupidest remarks I've heard. My reason and reformation class had a****load of reading and essays though, not an "elective" type class/

some people complain that he steers discussions to suit his own purposes, but i thought that he actually has the useful talent of makeing even off-topic comments that people make relevant to the course.

Nice guy, all smiles, walks like a velociraptor. Course soo dry and dense though, I probably will avoid him in the future. If you can handle soul-crushing essays though...go for it.
