Hickox is such a great professor, lectures are engaging and entertaining, even at 8am. If you go to his office hours and ask for help he is more than willing to accommodate you. His exams are hard, usually one question with multiple parts. He gives quizzes based on a coin toss called at the beginning of class, so you HAVE to do the assigned reading

He is very loud and outgoing and he randomly selects students to answer questions so make sure you're paying attention. As long as you show an interest in the class and try your hardest, he will give you all the extra help you need.

He's hilarious, class is enjoyable, but DEF READ THE BOOK for tests & especially his daily quiz. Bus Law is tough but if you participate in class and see him after class (to ask about a grade for example) he is willing to help you and your grade. I was lucky and had multi-choice tests due to another teacher's absence but this is unusual for Hickox.

Oh man,this teacher has pop quiz accounting for 20% of total grade without giving specific guidance for each quiz. I mean he can tell you about page 20 this class but ask you to write rules in page 50 at the beginning of class, and page 20 and page 50 are definitely different pages. See, you need to read 30 pages in advance every class!!!

He is one of the best professors I've had so far. Reading is extremley mandatory but he makes the material very interesting. Be prepared to be called on in class however even if you don't know what he is asking he will help you. Very motivational and helpful and super nice! Made me want to go to law school!!

If you are willing to put in the effort, he is the best teacher at URI. If you don't know everything inside and out, you will fail. I read everything twice and got an A, so it's possible. If you are actually interested in law and plan to try your hardest i recommend him, if not take DeAngelis.

Professor Hickox is the best teacher I've ever had. He ispired me to go to law school with his enthusiasm and passion for the subject of Business Law as well as every other aspect of his life. The examples he uses in class will help you to remember the material but you MUST read and understand. Ask for help and you will receive it.

Best teacher in the Business College. Really cares about students. Hilarious examples used to illustrate principles learned in the book. Exams are hard you need to know the material inside and out and always be prepared to get called on. Learn how he teaches and what he expects and you will be golden.

Very good professor and very funny but his way of running the class is AWFUL. Quizzes are decided by a coin toss so just imagine having tails on quizzes you would have done better contrary to heads. Participation is also random so your grade will be pretty random too. Gets a kick out of making the class panic. Take Deangelis, you've been warned.

He is awesome! Love the bow ties, he never wears the same one twice =] He really cares about the students. Hickox asked us what we wanted to learn and we also made our our own syllabus. I recommend him!! He is good for references too.

Definetly Reccomend D'Angeleas(Spelled incorrect) but I heard he was alot more interesting and had more of a knowledge and was better at getting his points across...Put it this way you can study your but off and still fail and its not cause the subject mattes hard because its really not, its because the way he teaches is different to say the least.

I took the class this year, I have never recieved lower than a b- in my whole life.and I recieved an F I am far from a slacker I didnt miss more than 2 classes and I did all the readings. Professor Hickox is by far the best professor at URI in my experience. He is funny as hell. You will have to work really hard in his class, and his exams are ALL essay based. Text book is mandatory, but the class is interesting. This class has made me want to become a lawyer.

Prof. Hickox is by far my favorite proffesor at URI. I enjoyed every minute of his class, he makes you learn. MUST read book and pop quizes are given, but if you read and understand the material you'll do fine. Very nice and helpful. There are two exams (essays) and a final, plus the quizzes. Class time is Priceless!!!I Definitively recommend him.
