Comment:

Her examples are so foreign that when I have trouble understanding I dont bother to ask further I just try to learn elsewhere on my own. Moves extremely quickly through material,I can barely write the problem down and she is already solving it on the board. She teaches it like it is a review class or refresher hard to actually learn at her pace.

This is by far one of the worst instructors I have ever had! I had to take a withdrawal just after the midterm because of "W" date. I spent a total of 26 hours in tutor center by the midterm.Her syllabus is constantly changing. I have to take this class again because of her! Total waste of time taking her and she would be better teaching math/ESL!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Ms. Chen does not communicate effectively. She often does not disclose information pertaining to due dates, but insists that she does. You will never be prepared for a test in her class no matter how well you know the chapter. I highly doubt that Ms. Chen cares about her students. This class was a nightmare!

at first i did not understand one word she said, but as time went by i started understanding. she wants her students to pass but never helps. i like her as a person but honestly i don't recommend her at all. also as hard as you try you will probably receive a "B" if your lucky or lower.

This instructor speaks english as a second language and has great difficulty in communication. Her class completely lacks structure and she's extremely abrasive, unhelpful, and insulting. She refuses to respond to student inquiries and becomes defensive when student's ask for assistance.

She is good at Math, but she cannot teach it. She is very unfair with students and will not help you. Her english conflicts with teaching math and becomes a burden to learn. Regardless of your attendance or involvement (which she says is important to her) will not get you better than a C in her class.

She is a very good teacher and cares about her students. She helped me tremendously with the word problems and most students are scared of those problems, but she explains very well with a good sense of humor. Towards the end of her class, she became more fun so don't be too quick to judge.

She's actually not that bad, her english has nothing to do with the class, she doesnt need to speak perfect english to teach. If you do the homework you should be fine! her tests arent very hard, but she will take a lot of point for little things, so be careful! she'll show you a lot of short cuts instead of doing everything the long way.

Worst teacher in the world. I suggest no one ever takes her class. I'm trying to drop her class as I speak. She can't speak or understand English. She gives way too much homework and gives out quizzes too often. Do not take her. She would make kids wanna drop out of college. BTW, I hope she reads this. :)

Chen is NOT all that bad. It's true, she doesn't teach it like the book sometimes, but offers short cuts which is better than the book. DO the HW; if not, u will be behind & get lost. Perhaps that is why these people gave such bad remarks.

RUN! She is extremley disorganized!!! Her english is not very good, so its hard to understand her. She does not follow the book & her way of explaining the lesson is off the wall. She can be very negitive. Does not go over tests. Beware.Good Luck!
