She is oblivious that she conducts this class in an unhelpful manner. Her personality is austere, passive aggressive, out of touch. She tries hard to make it seem like she's an effective professor by being difficult, haughty attitude, etc. She plays students by using the fear of business-like communication. She relies on her textbook as gospel.

This has been the most useful course I have taken so far. Everything you learn in this course will help you in the business world or the future. There are a decent number of assignments but they are all fairly easy and she curves most of them by a few points. If you have to take English 202D I would definitely take Stains.

Mrs. Stains prepares you for writing in the business world. Because of her class, I have learned how to communicate effectively with business professionals. She has left me with skills I will use the rest of my life. How to write cover letters, follow up letters, resumes.. and so much more. I really enjoyed her and her class!

Shes a great teacher and really explains it to you. She is extremely helpful and easy going. the material is not hard but demands some input. Attendance is mandatory since the class is always so small shell notice your absent. Alot of quizes and papers but its not rocket science just make sure you pay attention. the finals extracredit.

WONDERFUL TEACHER! Mrs, Stains actually teaches and she is so passionate about English! She is very helpful and expects a lot from her students! She gives a lot of work but its all worth it in the End, I left her class actually feeling like I learned something that applied to the real world! I would recommened her 100x's if I could! You might not enjoy the class while you're taking it. You might hate the grades you get. But in the end, when the extra credit's counted and what've you learned has paid off, you will be glad you took this class. It's a hard-core, real world look at communications skills you NEED to be successful. Props to Mrs. Stains for a course rooted in reality

Mrs. Stains is a fantastic teacher and English 202D is probably the most applicable class to the business world offered at PSU. Her presentation and teaching style are impeccable. She is highly recommended if available. One downside of her class is that an A is a 96-100. However, she gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit.

Amazing Class!! Most helpful class a business student can take at Penn State Altoona. Writing assignment are due almost every class and they require some work, but for the most part are one page assignment. Awesome professor!

Mrs. Stains is a great professor. She is very helpful and gives you a copy of the grading rubric when she assigns a project. Her grading scale is a bit out of hand but you just have to suck it up and do the work. She wants you to succeed, that is why the grading scale is the way it is. Take her, she is very nice too.

Constantly encouraging and diplomatic. Mrs. Stains' understanding of the content makes her one of the best teachers around. Although tough, you will learn so much. Put in the work and succeed...don't and fail. She's A+ in my book.

Really great teacher. Class was never boring and she was more than willing to help if you needed it. This class had a lot of writing and grammer, which sucked but I definitly learned a lot. Highly recomended.
