Craig was a very good teacher. Sometimes he over explained with multiple explanations but was able to stimulate considerable discussion in his classes among the graduate students taking the graduate seminar course, but he cares about photography and that comes through as he does students. He does have a penchant for dogmatism.

Craig is a fantastic teacher. He's so enthusiastic about photography and teaching and he really loves helping students. He actually really cares about his student and will help to the best of his ability to get you to succeed. Also, he's one of the smartest people I've ever met and he's a really good resource for anything photography related.

Great professor! You do need to go to class and pay attention but he makes it easy with fairly lively lectures and fun anecdotes. The group project and pinhole project are easy as long as you don't procrastinate. Take him if you have the chance!

Amazing lecture teacher, keeps you from falling asleep with great, relative stories. If you don't like a sense of humor, no use of textbook or random tangents, not the teacher for you. I had a blast in his class and cannot wait to take him for future classes.

This class could have been taught in a bar. We never went into the inkjet lab....wait i take that back...we test printed ONCE IN CLASS out of 10 weeks..hes helpful when u ask a question. But you can see his brain working at all times to think of another story to tell about himself. I learned more about this guys life than inkjet printing. Kill me

Took Craig for History of Photo I. He's awesome. Sometimes he'll go off on a tangent, but when he's talking photography he knows what he's saying. I learned a lot and it was an easy class. You make a pinhole camera at the end and do two group projects.

Craig is a great teacher. Really funny and makes the lecture class interesting. His tests are really easy. You do group projects making salt prints and cyanotypes. I would recommend him to anyone! Definitely a favorite teacher!

I'm taking him for Photo History 1 and it's by FAR my favorite class this quarter. Prof. Stevens is really passionate about photography and teaching- he *loves* teaching and it's obvious. He's funny and has great stories to incorporate into the history to keep you interested. No surprises in his class grading or test -wise, he's very clear.

I had the chance to go to France with Craig and he made it such a wonderful experience. History is usually very boring but with him he integrates stories that make it fun to learn. He is the best professor in the department.

Excellent and extremely knowledgable. He's a perfectionist when perfection is important. When teaching he leaves out no details and includes many (and some bad) jokes. His classes aren't easy, but you will get much out of them.
