Professor Arkkelin knows the material. That's for sure! Exams are over one chapter at a time and everything is online. The course is definitely set up for people to succeed, if you read the textbook! Great prof!

He is a decent teacher for the most part but he makes off-color jokes often. He has made very inappropriate religious and gender jokes and comments. He is definitely arrogant also. Many of his examples are unneeded and really obvious.

great teacher. he is passionate about psychology as well as environmental conservation, an attribute that i find most admirable. his lectures follow the structure of the textbook which he co-authored. his teaching style is engaging and he has a charming personality. i am surprised that he received any low ratings at all. plus he's a hippie xD

If you come to class and do your homework, you will do well. If you do not, you will not do well. Made expectations clear on first day of class. Lectures were long and difficult to sit through, but attending class was worthwhile. Rounds up!! I earned a 79% in the class, but he rounded up to an 80% B! Thank you!

I disagree with the previous review, Psychology is a real science, just not when taught by Arkkelin. He fails to connect with students and just talks to hear himself speak, not to convey knowledge.

Nice guy, cares about whats going on in his students lives. Class can be hard though. His tests are very difficult and his humor is not for everyone, but i think he makes up for his shortcomings with his enthusiasm

This guy was awful. He could not teach for anything. I went to him one time and he was like, your getting a D..thats not too bad he says. I was so happy to be done with him. I am not sure if he still has his long hair or not, but if he does he belongs in Woodstock, not teaching at Valparaiso University.

It has to be the worst one credit course i have ever taken. With all that is "required" this course should be at least 3 credits. Ridiculous
