Comment:

His class is all discussion. There is a lot of reading and you have to read the texts to be able to discuss and write essays on the topics he assigns. There were a lot of controversial topics up for discussion which made some people feel uncomfortable. I didn't enjoy this class, but it was fine. He's a pretty nice guy, just a bit strange sometimes.

one time I turned in a paper late and asked about a late penalty. man looked me in the eye and said, "do I look like I give late grades?" he's the best. super lenient, makes class fun, will derail and just have you lead a conversation instead but they can be heavy and are always impactful. will eat in the caf with you just because. 10/10 recommend

doesnt answer questions but instead says ask your neighbor. he can be really rude. i went to office hours and he refused to help me. dont recommend to someone who needs extra help in math or someone who simply wants an approachable professor

I didn't find the material super difficult but he was never any help. If you asked questions in class he wouldn't give you a direct answer but usually tell you to ask your neighbor. This was the same if you went to him for office hours.

Dr. Nelson really wants to see his students succeed in his class. He gives all of the resources needed to get an easy A in the class, including old tests that mostly have the same questions as the tests you'll be taking. The homework and worksheets are easy credit and can add a couple of points to your overall grade.

He was really funny and easy to listen to. He would upload notes onto canvas, and we would fill them in during class. Easy A for sure. We did have a worksheet and my stat lab due for every class, but they usually weren't hard.

Dr. Nelson is the sweetest man ever! INT 101 is discussion based and we only have like 3 essays and one essay for our finally. We either talk about current events or the readings (some were boring but the discussion was usually very interesting) But over all 11/10 best INT teacher also easy grader.

If you are male/ greek or just a conservative person, DO NOT take Dr. Nelson's class. He makes it so much harder on the students that keep to themselves. It is almost like you have to have a fake personality when under his presence. However, if you enjoy class participation and are female, you should thank your parents for the helpful DNA.

Dr. Nelson is the best!!!! His sarcastic humor keeps you engaged the whole class period and he provides worksheets that help TONS. He has made math enjoyable! Take him!

Great Professor and overall person! I really enjoyed his class. You learn a lot but its important to make sure you talk with him if there is any material you are confused about or don't understand. He really great and easy to talk to. He cared a lot about his students and that we also understand what materials we are learning in class. Take him!

Dr. Nelson is such a sweet soul. He is always there for his students and really wants to see you succeed. This class was discussion based on the books and was often boring to me. However, Nelson is a great professor. He did not grade papers harshly and really just looked to see improvement. I would definitely take a class with him again.

drNelson is one of my favourite professors. I didn't like statistics but his method eased me into it and got me to actually prefare it to algebra and calculus. He knows what he is doing. he isnt a tough grader and he likes to see improvement. i just wish he was able to help more during office hours. funny and great teacher. Advice.. Take his class.

Dr.Nelson is an amazing teacher, very understanding and helpful. He does have an attendance policy but will let it slide if you write him an email beforehand. The INT class is discussion based, and covers a wide range of topics.

Very unhelpful. His lectures and his my statlab homework are completely different things. When you try to get his help during his office hours, he was not helpful in any way. Even during his classwork activity, he always say to ask a neighbor. WHAT KIND OF A PROFESSOR ARE YOU IS YOU DO NOT WANT TO TEACH!!!!! LEAVE!!!
