40 yrs ago Dr. Paoletti was a "new " faculty member at Kings. He was dynamic, inspirational, and enthusiastic! This man was very intelligent but practical. I was an older student with goals on medical school. He listened to me, believed in me and helped me. Today I am an MD,PhD and Anesthesiology Chair in a major medical school. Thanks "Bob"!

Biochemistry with Dr. Paoletti was a mess. I had no idea what was going on half the time. However, his curve saved me in the end.

Comment:

Dr. Paoletti's class was pretty cool. Your grade is based solely on exams. The exams are based off his lecture notes and handouts. The book is there if you need some clarity but studying his handouts and notes will get you a good grade on the exams. He is also helpful during office hours if you are confused. I would take him again.

Comment:

I really enjoyed the multiple classes I took with Dr. Paoletti. He keeps the lectures short and to the point so you know what to study. He test can be tricky but once you get used to it they are easy to figure out and easy to predict what he will ask. His is very knowledgeable and talks about interesting topics. I would definitely take him again.

Comment:

Paoletti's tests are rough, but somehow his grading system saves you every time. Honestly, the material covered in class is made pretty understandable, but then when it comes to the exams, he'll throw curve ball, a chang-up, and then you'll strike out looking.

He is very challenging, although once your in his class for a while you adapt. His lectures are very fast and require very quick precise note taking. Test questions can be confusing. If you really want to learn biology inside and out he is the one to take.

Professor Paoletti lectures a lot in class. Always take good notes and study them well on the test. The textbook may help you to understand more; however, his lecture is the key on his tests. Many students did not receive good grades in his class, but as long as you study his lecture notes and the textbook you will receive a decent grade.

Awful. He Isn't clear at all in his teaching. Doesn't use the text book. Tests are extremely vague so even if you study hard you have a good chance of doing bad. Nice guy. Bad teacher.

Dr. Paoletti is a brilliant man. However, he also grades based upon a bell curve. His tests are incomprehensible. He isn't the best teacher, but you do learn alot.

Dont bother to buy the textbook waste of money, he never used it, tests were outragous rarely covered material taught questions were crazy (never in my life saw a paragraph mulitple choice question) take great notes then copy someone elses write down everything its the only thing you can do

Dr. Paoletti was one of the hardest professers I have ever had. I personally never read the book since his notes during class go beyond what the book says. I had to look up an answer to a question in an advanced chemistry book. He will however spend time with you if you need it. Whether you understand it or not is another story.

This poor excuse for an 'advisor' told me to not waste time and money applying to medical school beacuse I would not get in.(though i had a 3.9 gpa). Chose to NOT meet with him, went about my business and I am now a surgeon. Thanks for the motivation, sir! I hope everyone follows their dreams, despite people like this who try to hold you back!

Paoletti... good word. His class started off as a reasonable challenge, but as the semester dragged on, the wheels fell off completely. Pictures and diagrams on his tests were ridiculously vague, his lectures on the Krebs Cycle were utter train wrecks, and the class was generally a snorefest. He's a decent guy, but his teaching is unclear.

No matter what class i took with Dr. P, i always got the same grade, a C+, it was like no matter how well i studied, or didnt study, i got a C+..He has a hard time getting his point across.I had to relearn the material in Bio 2, because i felt i missed out on what the other students had learned with other profs in bio 1.Take Mrs. Sanders for bio!!!

His tests are impossible, but he is helpful if you ask for help, he is a bit creepy/scary (i think it is his eyes, he tends to glare at students if the make a mistake, or ask a question he feels is unimportant) But he is a nice fella, but his class is notorious for being difficult, as are his tests :/
