Worst professor in the whole world. Please do NOT take her, the class is not a hard subject the only problem is her. She clearly should not be teaching, she hates people she will not help you succeed. The class is a GE requirement, so do pick another professor.

She's a pretty difficult teacher to please. Her grading criterias are strict. The key to passing her class may be to ask her many questions. I kept going to her for help on my own time so that showed I was really trying.

To pass this class all you need to do is do your homework and ask questions that's it people. Plus if you ask questions in her class she gives extra credit at the end because she actually sees you care about the subject.

Professor Avila isn't that bad here's the thing with her get on her good side. By good side I mean I ask questions and attend her office hours. She hates when students don't ask questions and makes her feel like she isn't doing her job. She loves to be funny and joke around with students and is a good time.

She's not that specific about her case study assignments but I thought they were simple & informal which is what I really like about her class. Outside of class, she often stayed behind to answer questions & often asked about how we are before class. She tries to make lectures fun by cracking jokes and by trying to get us to relate to the material.

she didn't use canvas which sucked(you never knew your grade.) her tests were way too difficult when you think about how easy her lectures were. she wasn't approachable. had like 5 graded assignments and 3 were super hard tests. 2 easy speeches. read textbook and go to class. wouldn't take again ever. no recommendations.

Professor Avila does not explain what is needed on the case studies. In the textbook states there is no wrong answer, but once I get my paper back I receive a low C. Now that the semester is over with I understand what she expects from the class. I would not mind the class if she actually went over this important information.

Professor Avila is the worst teacher I've ever had. She is condescending, immature, and unprofessional. She never offered help, and wouldn't tell us our overall grades. The syllabus was ignored or changed constantly, and when a student asked a question, she would often respond with silence. There's something wrong with this woman. Why is she here?

Worst professor Ive encountered here at PCC. Im not sure she is interested in student success. She spends entire class sessions "teaching" us what NOT to do.. instead of teaching us the nessecary. She harshly limits your speech topic choices to her personal likings. NOT an effective professor is putting it lightly. Take class as a LAST RESORT!

She may be a nice person, she's not so great a professor. Took her for Speech 1, she does not use canvas and is a stickler for her outline. If she does not like your topic she will require you to change your topic after you've done some work in it. I ended up with a C after being told I was doing pretty good in the class by her. Stay clear.

I can't understand the rating. She wasn't bad at all. The material is very easy to digest and all you have to do is read and understand what you're reading, and work hard at your group projects. Can be a bit boring, but still. She'll try to scare you into thinking the exams are hard and they aren't. But the class was fine, easy.

She doesn't use Canvas, so you'll never know what your grade is. She is way too hard of a grader for someone who lacks in teaching properly.

She is very sloppy in general, her due deadlines are not clear, and her lack of computer skills make it harder to communicate with her. Good luck knowing your grade unless you make an appointment to see her during office hours which will be EARLY. Once class starts she will talk nonstop. she knows her thing but doesn't know how to teach it. AVOID!

By far the worst teacher I have ever taken at PCC. Grades you as if you were a perfect speaker. Has a completely monotone voice and also won't help you on anything. If she does help you then get ready to get all your ideas crushed. Do yourself a favor and DON'T take this class. Her class is also very slow and boring.

This teacher is by far the worst teacher I have ever taken at PCC. She grades as if you were a professional even if it was SPEECH OO1. She doesn't really care about your opinion on things. Her OUTLINE is practically her Bible. If you don't follow the outline well then good luck. Also, she very monotone and her "lectures" are completely terrible!!

This teacher has the worst lectures and attitude. To this day I do not know which book to buy. Her class grading scale is literally a roller coaster. Also, her final is insane. You'll need to snag last semester's study guide. She is more bearable after class. Also, if she destroys your outline just appease her. Do as she says if you want to pass.

if you had a choice between taking her class and suicide, you should seriously consider suicide. She makes you buy the book that she NEVER talks about, the topics she assigns are pointless and hard, and if you dont use the pcc library, shes gonna fail you. The only reason im doing average is because she was out for one month with a broken wrist.

Please don't take this class. She does t lecture, is very unclear about her directions, she's incredibly rude. She gives horrible grades on things when she never clearly explained anything. Unfortunately my entire class had to complain about her to the dean because it is clear she is not suitable for teaching. 150 for textbook that's never used
