If you think Duncan is a hard professor you are a moron, or you failed to put in minimal effort for a class, as in reading. I took 3 classes with him, two of which were Masters courses during my undergrad, and got A's in all of them. If you know how to read you can crush his classes, and along the way learn a ton from a brilliant professor.

hardest professor ever. If you earn an A on the paper or exams, your a ****! It is possible to pass this guys course. I recommend group study guides. His exams are all based on the readings.

One of the best lecturers I've ever had and undeniably brilliant. But he's an extraordinarily hard grader and demands Master's-level dedication for undergrads. Only take him if you're looking for a challenge.

The man is incredible! Knows many people around town... and everyone seems to know him (or been a former student). Lots of readings but they are very relevant. The class is very hard... so what!? Flunkin Dunkan name is deserved (he is not afraid of giving "F"). If you plan to take him, get used to the idea of having to devote lots of time to class.

Dr. Clarke is amazing. Everyday I walked out of his class knowing 50 times what I knew before. He is extremely well-connected across DC and within the gov't so prove yourself to him. Must do reading, must not miss class and must do offhrs., what you'll learn will be well worth it!

evil genius would be correct...the only way you will make an A in this class is if you a)never leave your room because you are reading his materials all day or b)only taking 2 classes. Extremely insightful, very challenging, very helpful...very hard.

With the well earned nickname Flunkin' Duncan, Clarke's classes are possibly the most challenging at AU, BUT the man is brilliant. With something like 30 years in field work he is the best resource for USFP that AU has to offer.
