Excellent professor, knows his stuff and teachers like a college professor should. Those who think college is a continuation of high school should stay away, the "good-feelings" group work is not used in his classes.

I strongly disagree with the ratings below. The workload throughout the semester is very little. He usually makes no sense and speaks very unclearly. It is almost impossible to follow his lesson. When the final comes along, he is VERY specific as to what he wants and does not make it clear to the class. If you want a good GPA dont take this class.

He is the man! Although grumpy, but he knows so much about the Constitution and has every Supreme Court case memorized. He offers more than just stats and facts, he provides stories and fun facts that many of us would not know.Recommended to anyone interested in going to law school. This guy is just brilliant!

Have him for both HIST classes [776 & 778). Don't buy the books, just do the easy case reports and make sure you're in class when it's your turn to present. Easy grader, hardly did work. Only thing annoying is his constant coughing & the tan suit he wears every class day [lol]. Easy A or B :)

A very "traditional" professor in the best sense of the word. Teaches about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights utilizing the Socratic method; therefore, you must know what you are talking about if asking or answering a question. But, this isn't bad. He gives crystal clear and informative notes, so you don't need the textbook, although it is helpful. If you take the Bill of Rights class, you must know the cases--get them from the 'Net--and know the Amendments and you'll be fine.

easy class, all you have to do is report like 4 cases to the class for the entire semester, about 20 mins of work each time, easy to get 100 on each one. until final, you have to know a lot of court cases, however he is so old, he cannot see that well, i cheated on the final easily, he leaves the room too for like 30 mins

I took him for all three of his graduate classes that dealt with the Constitution and I learned a lot. He knows his stuff and actualy has a sense of humor. He does make you "know everything" for the final and won't give you choices before hand. But, this is college, isn't it?

I took McManus' courses undergrad and then at the grad level. He is the best professor by far in the college. He is a walking book of knowledge. I left his class with a better understanding of our Constitution and our rights. He comes across as a nasty person but in reality he is a very nice professor. I recommend him to anyone without a doubt.

This professor should wear a hearing aid, anyway, at this age he should already retire and allow younger professor to get a job. He is a very unpleasant person to talk to. I personally do not recommend him. However, he is alright with grades.
