horrible. most disorganized person I have ever met. Her lectures are a mess and have a lot of pointless information. Her class is very boring and consists of lectures all day for the full 55 min period. Her tests are unclear and it takes her near a month or 2 to get them back so you never really know how you're doing in the class. do not take her!!

The only thing that counts in this class are your tests, if she doesn't lose them. She is very disorganized and talks to the board when she teaches. She has these mini panic attacks where she'll freak out at someone if you don't understand something. She's very smart but doesn't know how to teach whatsoever.

Many give her a bad outlook, but she is so nice and is always willing to help. There is little homework, making their be a major emphasis on tests and lab. Overall, she has to be the busiest prof here at CSBSJU because she is the only true Microbiologist. She is very intelligent and has her own unique style.

Please, I beg you, do not take her if you can avoid it. I read all the comments below and still took her class. DO NOT, DO NOT. She is the worst professor I have ever had. I would rather take a chemistry class than hers and that should say a lot!! You get grades in the class and don't even know how-I dropped 6% and still have no clue! unorganized.

I had Dr. Jensen for Microbiology lab. I personally struggled a lot with the lab, but Jensen always answered my questions and was extremely helpful. I was a little confused sometimes and Jensen is the only professor I've seen give 12ths of a point. For example, I may have received 18 9/12 on an assignment. That bothered me, but fine otherwise.

This class itself is hard. She has a low voice which I can't hear at times. Avoid taking her if you can but if she is the only one available, best of luck. When you just don't get anything, make sure that you find a kind person to work with and be sure to ask Jensen questions when you have one because she only knows it when you let her know.

I was not expecting this for a starting Biology course, but it was terrible! Taking Ellen Jensen as a Biology teacher is your worst decision for college biology. I am sorry, but she was a tough cookie. Her lectures were long-winded and boring, and her tests were not covering much of the information gone over in class. Pick another teacher.

Jensen is a very sweet lady! Her class is a little confusing at first, but once you figure out how to understand her during class it makes it a bit more enjoyable. She has a hard time understanding peoples questions and lab is confusing at times. Take Dr. May for lab if at all possible. Jensen's tests aren't too hard if you study your notes!

I don't know if she has changed or what, but I loved Jensen. She can be unorganized, but she makes sure you understand the material. Her tests were not difficult at all and you get a chance to get points for coming to class and quizzes. She does not use the book. I really like how she doesn't use powerpoints but writes on the board.

I had her for Micro and for Bio 121. She was equally unorganized and boring for both. Going to class isn't really beneficial. I would walk out of class practically every day thinking what the heck just happened. Except sometimes she gives participation points for showing up. When asking her a question, make it a simple and clear as possible.

I have never met a person as unorganized as she is. Her lectures are all over the place, and most of the time she sends the notes via email bc she wastes class time on unimportant details. She usually took a month to correct scantron tests. The worst part is that she doesn't prepare her students for tests. She is the worst prof I've ever had by far

Yikes. She is about as bad as it gets. Lectures are very very very confusing, and her tests are on random specifics. I would switch teachers if you have the opportunity.

Learning from this woman is very difficult. I am extremely disappointed in her for that. Yet, there are strategies for surviving. Sit closest to the board on the side of the room. That gets used everyday, and it is frustrating if you can't see it. Also look in the chapter review for studying ideas. She doesn't teach it really, but she tests on it.

This lady is on an entire new level of awfulness. She writes on the board for seventy mins straight, but doesn't explain anything clear enough to comprehend. I would highly suggest to switch teachers for this class. If you can't, I am sorry for your misfortune.

She doesn't explain material clearly, but you can (sorta) teach yourself mostly. She is quiet, so try to get a front seat. Tests are moderately difficult. There are lots of specifics,so it is difficult to prepare for them. Altogether she is below par at best. I'd stay away if you have the option.
