Comment:

The readings at the beginning with the quizzes are not bad, however his lectures are many pages long and the exams are 80+ questions with only about an hour to take it. The exams also repeat the same questions many times and are over very small details in the lectures not the main ideas. This course made me change my major.

Dr. Kim seems to know his material, but he has issues conveying it to the class. He would rather it be an online course because of this. Its an easy A because he is so helpful though. So theres pros and cons. On one hand, I got a solid grade. On the other, I dont feel that I learned that much.

Exams are tough, study material isn't very clear, but he does sometimes give 2nd attempt. Quizzes allow multiple attempts (like 3-5). All about strategy to pass those. Obscure questions, but straight from books. Majority of grade is quiz/exams, and a large group project. Some discussion boards that are insanely easy (basically your thoughts). Solid

I think this class was helpful. The professor has an accent, but I understood him without any problem. He was very helpful. I asked questions in class and his office, and he answered all the questions. He explained the stuff one by one, and I learned a lot from him.

It was basically an online class where you showed up in class and let him walk through step by step. His accent is hard to understand at times, and most of the time he doesn't have a clear schedule. However, I didn't have to go to the final exam for this class. Show up on test days, and you'll be fine, as long as you do all of the online work.

I honestly feel kind of bad for Prof. Kim because he finds it hard to get his words across to some of the students. He is always there to help you out . Some of the info he provides is outdated and he struggles with his own technology at times. Go in there with a basic understanding of computers and Excel and it's hard to fail.

Took him online in the summer. Pretty cool guy, active on blackboard, posts video lectures occasionally. Exam questions are sometimes tricky, so read and reread them. But he gives plenty of practice exams. Real exam questions are straight from the practice exams. Gives extra time to complete assignments if needed. I'd take him again!

Actually the guy does seem to know what hes talking about..problem is none of the other students did so he had to reteach 205 stuff. Tests were easy, straight from the book..read the chapters before test.

Kim is an easy class to take. Just sit and act like your listening and all is great. I really wanted to learn adv c++ but I really didn't learn anything in this class. He is hard to understand and takes too many shortcuts. Its too easy to just get lost. He doesn't even use the compiler the way other instructors do. The class was pointless.

At the beginning I was kinda freaked out, because it sounded like it would be hard. Just hang in there it is not so bad. He only graded on mid-term and final exams, but he gave lots of extra credit. His exam were a little difficult, but you just need to go over your notes and practice for the hands on exam a couple of times before going.

Very nice guy and very easy classes. He has his sh** together before class starts unlike most programming professors. Has plenty of examples for you to look at and works through every one of them with the class.

Nice guy. Bad teacher. Can't understand him. Don't learn anything from him. Easy class, poor learning. It's a shame too because he is a really nice guy and pretty intelligent. Just can't teach his intelligence.
