Online. She caused me to enjoy and understand 19th Century literature. Easy to follow. Provides interesting and abundant info needed to understand the material. Will work with you as long as you are putting out. One shortfall: doesn't provide graded feedback so you know where you are as you progress through the class. You will enjoy learning.

Comment:

Not only does Eva bring accesible, advanced literary insight to her introductory level classes, she teaches her students to do the same. Lenient grader but expects coherency and thoughtfulness, and is very helpful in and outside of class. She is also, if I remember correctly, easy on the eyes.

Not only was Badowska a hard grader, but she was also unclear. She raced through material. I took the class w/ a guy friend who never read, but somehow he did much better than me, even though I studied hard.

Theory of CompLit: If you must it for your major you must take it with this prof!! Not a walk in the park but she is very accessible, nice, fun, fair. If you just want to take it, still take it with her. Difficult stuff is always best taught by someone who can do it with enthusiasm + instill that enthusiasm in her students.This prof can+does!

Extremely difficult class but her style is rather interesting. Don't count on an A unless you are at a Harvard level. She comes accross nice, and she is, but is not very understanding of extenuating circumstances.
