If you are an ED major, you MUST take Dr. S before she soon retires. She provides work that is relevant to the course and learning/progression rather than busy work (she hates busy work!). Comment:

Doctor Spielhagen doesn't usually teach this course, but I was lucky to have her--she was amazing. All of our assignments and classwork were relevant to the lesson and often were engaging. There was always reading and a short paper to write, but they weren't stressful and she used them to see if the reading was understood. Excellent teacher.

Dr. S is a good woman. She does assign a lot of work, and you must attend class, but she is very fair and her door is always open. She also takes emails. I took her methods course four years ago and still have dialogue with her after all that time. Any social studies major must take her.

An amazing teacher. Always open to questions and opinions. Will gladly work with you after class and answer a million emails, trust me, I emailed her a lot and got a response every time. Overall, amazing amazing person, difficult, but so worth it.

Extremely Hard & Hypocritical. Tells you as a teacher not to overload students or criticise, but she has no problem assigning 30 pages of work for one day and belittlng you infront of class. Thinks she knows everything. Tells you not to share politics but gladly bashes the other political party and you if she knows you support them. Horrible woman.

Dr.S was a very knowledgable teacher. She spent the majority of the time talking about practical application of the topics in the classroom, not preaching theory for a perfect classroom. There is a lot of work, but with a decent head on your shoulders, it's not that tough. As a current teacher, I can say that Dr.S WILL make you a better teacher

She is one of the worst professors if she decides she doesn't like something about you. God forbid you are different from her in any way, she will torment you and make you want to quit teaching. She needs to have retired a decade ago, no longer relevant to the classroom.
