Out of all 3 semesters that I've been taking Spanish, he is by far the worst. His syllabus is difficult to follow and doesn't make the test material clear. He is lax on what is taught in class and then expects you to know things on tests that weren't even taught in class.

Can be incredibly rude if he doesn't like you. The syllabus isn't clear and difficult to follow. The work itself is fine if you stay on top of it.

Quiet guy and does expect you to know some Spanish which makes sense because it is Spanish 2003, but even if you don't, it isn't impossible to fail. Homework counts for a big part of your grade so if you do that you won't fail. All in all I would recommend taking him

Instead of introducing new material thru the super site he actually introduces it in class. Hes nice and his grading is fair. He tells you everything thats on the test you just have to prepare for it. The best spanish professor easily. Id take all his classes just because its him.

Great Spanish professor, kind of quiet. If you take his course, make sure to participate in class, because as long as you're trying, you'll get a good grade. His tests are a little on the longer side, so make sure to prepare for them. If you struggle with understanding him, he does try to rephrase what he is trying to say to make it understandable.

He grades pretty easy, but he's not the best at teaching new material. We learned a lot of different tenses in this class but I feel like we didn't spend nearly enough time learning about when and why to use them.

5-question quizzes on the assigned reading every single class period, so although attendance is not mandatory- go to class. Two tests, 1 is the final exam. There are 3 simple film reports, and a 7-10 page paper, but these are not difficult & he is not a harsh grader. Go to class to participate in the discussion, will help on exams. Loved the class!

This was a very difficult class for me. He comes in speaking Spanish the first day, and you must pay very close attention to what he says. He is also very understanding, and he tries to accommodate.

I recommend this professor. He is very understanding, and helpful. Attendance is mandatory, you sign a sheet everyday. But you are allowed a few absences. Tests and quizzes are easy, and you do need a textbook and websam code.

Great professor! If you go to the review class before each test, there's no way you can get lower than an A on the tests. He is straight forward, to the point, and he will always make sure you are with him and not lost. Definitely take him! You won't regret it

This professor is rude, condescending, and reads out of the book. You would be better off to take an online spanish class. You would learn more. If you aren't his favorite, you might as well forget passing... Definitely do not take him if you can help it. (I'm not just a whiney person.. I'm a spanish major and I definitely wouldn't take him again

I LOVED JAVIER! He made a hard class not so bad and definitely made me understand stuff I would have otherwise been completely lost on. I could seriously listen to him talk all day long and his laid-back outlook on things was a welcomed change. TAKE HIM if you get the chance! I can't stress how great he was!! :D
