If you read the books & understand them then this will prob be an easy class. If not, then it might be difficult. His final/mid term are essay format & 2 written assignments. He grades fair though. Lots of notes $ he will keep you the whole time. He's big in participation & will randomly call on people. He's old school. Nice guy though.

Wonderful professor! I never thought that I would enjoy learning about the history of the Middle East, but I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed his class and learned quite a bit! He requires two essays, two map quizzes, and a written final. He goes over everything that will be on the final and makes it as easy as possible.

He is a very nice guy, fun to chat with and all. He can't stay on track during lessons though, always starts talking about his kids. About 1/4th of what he teaches you history wise is incorrect. His lectures are amazingly boring...he just has no flair! Oh, he also barely talks about the books at all. Easy class just boring lectures.

Chadwick is a great story teller. He knows his information and inundates you with it. This class requires you to engage your brain. Chadwick helps you do that. Go to every class or you wont get it.

Dr. Chadwick is such a nice person. He is very helpful and easy to get along with. Must go to class, lots of notes, and need to read all the books (5) but they are not big some are only 100 pages. 2 papers and a written final. I took him for Summer I.

Very good teacher. He could be clearer but he keeps your attention. Awesome accent! he is fair and an easy grader on written info. Lots of reading but he gives a full review before every exam.

Quite a few books assigned...discussion in class after the break which consists of him calling on people at random to answer questions...3 papers including final..tests are identifying quotes from the books. Really just need to read enough of each book to know what is going on in each and attend each review discussion if not any of the others.

I took him in the summer (5wk) and the hardest part about his class is keeping up with the reading assignments (5 books!). No worries the longest book was 258 pgs, so it's not too bad. It is important to keep up with the reading because he ramdomly calls on students to answer a question on the reading. He assigns 2papers (3pgs each) and a final.

Great professor! Very smart. Loved the British accent. just answer all the questions he gives you on the exam review, and do the papers. Easy A. I took this as a summer class. It was very fast paced, and made my head spin. However there were fewer questions on the final exam, as I later found out.

Super sweet professor. I loved his english accect. His class is really easy just two short papers and two tests that are explained quotations from the books which he goes over ahead of time. Also an easy grader. He likes to call on random people in class and keep track of who participates.

The class is fast, but if you prepare its okay. You need to read the material BEFORE the class though. He is open to questions and lets students email if necessary. Chadwick's class required you to read the books you've been told about throughout school (Social Contract, Robinson Crusoe, Letters on England). NOW you can say you have read tehm too! He is extremely organized with his lecture notes and adds a personal touch to the history aspects.

He tends to wander in his lectures, but I did learn a lot . There was a midterm & final, along with 2 papers. The only problem I had was his grading on the 1st paper. I picked the option of comparing & contrasting Judaism, Islam, & Christianity. He said few made an A on this subject & tried to debate the Christian belief of the afterlife.

This is one of the best profs I've had at UHCL. So knowledgeable, positive, helpful; a really great prof! This class requires a lot of reading & outside time, but that's what this class is about. Great reviews, etc. Take this teacher - you will definitely learn a lot & have a good time in class!
