Wow, I'm so glad to see Gil is still teaching. He was a classy guy and inspiring teacher. Such a breath of fresh air from all the PC BS I had to endure while at TESC. I took his Bukowski and Down and Out classes way back in the 90's. He really was one of the very few positive experiences I had at that****ty place.

If you don't like Gil, it's either because his no-nonsense, brass-tacks approach doesn't jibe with your new age mentality, or because you simply don't want to do the work. Either way, get over it and give this guy the credit he's due-and learn something! Best prof I've ever had, hands down...

I had Gil as my Independant Study sponsor. He was very demanding and exacting but I also felt he was my biggest supporter. As another reviewer said, he's a breath of fresh air at a PC Nazi-fied school. Unpopular because he isn't Prof PC and won't coddle the trust-fund hippes at TESC or their group-think ways.

Didn't realize he was still teaching; obvious to poor reviews. I found Gil to be a hard-ass, opinionated ****. And in such a touchy-feely school he was breath of fresh air. He was the most difficult professor I had, which made me work hard, but he recognized it. I dug that he told people to shut up; they needed to.

Should not be teaching. Insensitive, gives terrible/no feedback, lets about 3 people in class ever say anything.

Challenging and supportive of individual interests. Made me read and write more than any other undergraduate instructor.
